Adjust the tire pressures and perform the tpms calibration, BEFORE you leave the dealership. Your tire pressures will be at 50psi and although the PDI will have the box ticked that they performed the check, they didn’t. Guaranteed.
Lol this 100%. I was at 45psi at all 4 corners. Had to deflated down by a lot.

Same, even Acura dealers are not immune to this. The car rode so much better afterwards. 😆

Ive driven manual a number of years, though not lately, and was never taught or had even heard about heel-toe before recently. Its a skill Ill have to work to develop.
Here's my diatribe on the subject: https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/how-to-heel-toe-with-big-feet.57620/page-2#post-984644

Will be picking up the CTR soon and the drive home from the dealership is about 440mi.

Of course I'll avoid going over 3500 rpm and cruise control, but is there any other advice I need for such a long initial drive?
I picked up my car from Ohio and drove it to Texas, almost 1,400 miles. When breaking a car in, they tell you to vary your engine speed. The day I picked up my car, I did alot of city driving mostly from 1st to 3rd. I was able to go into 4th a few times, then 5th once in the first 100 miles. The next day, I left Ohio for Texas. On the highway, I didn't go past 3k RPM for the first 300 miles. To vary speed, When no one was behind me, I would downshift to about 35 MPH then shift/accelerate back up to highway speed. I got off every single exit to simulate slowing down, then get back on to the highway. I stopped at all rest areas, just going thru the semi parking to simulate the same thing. After 300 miles I started going to 3500 RPM during acceleration up to about 400 miles, then up to 4K once I got close to 500 miles. Went to 4.5K RPM after 500 miles. I did this until I was at 600 miles. Went to 5K RPM just a couple times after 600 miles. I wanted to get an oil change at 600, but just drove all the way to Texas. 1st oil change almost 1600 miles. Good luck and enjoy your new car.

Some are very gentle and OCD with break-in. Some are aggressive and don’t care. Either way, I haven’t read of premature engine wear nor failure in FK8s nor FL5s. I’d say, somewhere in the middle is what you want to do. Just be reasonable, safe, and do what’s comfortable for you. It won’t hurt to have a little fun with the throttle. Try to drive up some hills if there are routes that will provide this. It helps vary the load on the engine.
I have CDO, a bit more severe than OCD

it is like OCD but the letters are in the proper alphabetical order :)

I don’t like that you didn’t use punctuation nor capitals in your response. However, this is offset by your use of the happy face emoji, which is perfectly symmetrical.😝

This whole “breaking in” of the engine is a complete joke, it is hard for me to believe anybody is doing this. It is just a fairy tale nothing else. Just change the oil after couple of thousand km to get rid of metal scrapes. Sorry but I see almost daily guys picking up M2 & M4s, and driving the hell out of them as soon as they are out the door. Still, some of them have already more than 200.000 in 2-3 years of ownership, no problems with the engine, no oil consumption. Even my own sis is doing this with her car, no care whatsoever, 170.000km and counting.

and I am talking BMW.. Honda is a lot better quality (engine of course) wise.

If you own a hybrid, does the cruise control thing still apply?

By the time you get to engine RPM, you'd think the vehicle speed is just a vague suggestion to the engine.
