It did POP !!!

Maybe it should have come with color match wing from factory, so we don't have to paint it ;)
I think it should have, the rest can stay black the mirrors and the accents on the front bumper look great. Just that the wing was too much black. It was not expensive either, so instead of getting the carbon wing I spent $200 making it look the way I wanted.

I'm on team black wing but I also think that the rear of the car looks large from the side profile. The black wing lessens it a bit but I think the white wing makes it worse.

I'm glad you like it though and it's easy to find someone selling their factory wing if you ever change your mind.

yeah for sure different tastes in looks. That is the beauty of cars. You can slowly bring them to the way you want.

I like the white wing, but I also like that people are so torn about body match vs gloss black. I'd debated wrapping the wing, but hadn't gotten far into sourcing CW-like vinyl before it occurred to me that it's a rather technical piece to wrap. I'll eventually do the wing in CW with the black wing risers PRL has in the pipeline. They say they should be available in December/January.

I think you got a great deal for $200--certainly a lot cheaper custom touch than $2200+ for the CF wing.

Yeah I was not sold on the carbon wing yet so I figured I would try this first and if I did not like it then go with the carbon wing. But for the price and how it came out I’m very happy.

I’m also looking forward to the PRL wing risers!

It's more like $1,900-$1,950 shipped depending on where you're located. But, I think your point is it's not a nominal sum compared to getting the factory wing sprayed for $200. Are you referring to the wing risers on Honda Pro Jason's car?

Yessir! They had prototype risers installed in their intake video from earlier this week too--they're almost comically large... but that's part of what I like about them. ?

That's a fair call out. You admit they're a little absurd and that's what draws you to them. I'm on the other end of the spectrum on them. I think they look awful. And I'm not anti-wing riser either. I have them on the GT4 and I think they look fantastic. It doesn't help that I'm also not a PRL fan, at all. I know that's sacrilege around these parts.

The car as it stands has black accents that work. You take it a step too far if you black the roof IMHO. There's too much surface area.
To each their own I guess... getting my roof wrapped with black ppf. I'll post some photos when it's back from the detailer.

P.S. Jester your wing looks great paint matched

I still on the fence about the risers. But once I have a better idea of how they look I will decide. I’m ok with keeping the wing the way it sits, super happy with it.

I think PRL is popular and liked due to the lack of competition in the aftermarket for FK8. I hope the FL5 will get more aftermarket options because it’s built in Japan.

I’m planning the same as you. Though the Cusco Wing Riser made me change my mind and think for a bit. Visually prefer the cusco over PRL, but the price is too stiff though.

Yeah until I can see pictures of both so I can compare I will hold off. But its interesting for sure. Maybe a smaller bracket would be better look. Like in between the stock risers and the cusco/PRL.

Yeah, and that’s why I’m following your build thread! ??

On a side note, I emailed Voltex Racing (Sorry folks I’m a fan of GT Type Wing) regarding their wing and got a respond that it will be out December of 2024.
