Is there any peculiar reason on why most people instantly the accuity shifter bushings over the hybrid racing? That’s the only upgrade that I want to try on my FL5 but kind of looking for more information. Because all the videos and info I can find is just on the accuity, also is necessary to remove the charge pipe in order to install this part? Thanks for any input it would be appreciated.

I have Acuity, a buddy of mine uses Hybrid Racing, those are the 2 most popular ones. There are several other companies that make shifter cable bushings too. They all essentially do the same thing, its really up to you in which one you want to go with.

With installing the bushings in an FL5, you can do it without removing the charge pipe, it's gonna be a tight space, but can be done.

I just installed the Acuity bushings earlier this week. Based on what these bushing are and how they work I can't believe that there is really any difference in feel between the two brands. I would just buy whatever is cheaper.

While you don't have to remove the charge pipe, I recommend it. It's easy to remove and reinstall and it gives you much better access.

Side note: I can barely tell a difference in shifter feel after the bushing install. I wouldn't advise against this mod, but I don't think they were worth doing.

This is good to know. I have the acuity bushing sitting around to be installed when I got my downpipe installed. Roughly 2 weeks ago, I had the hybrid detent springs put in. It definitely made it stiffer. I don’t see a need or priority with the other stage 1 or 2 mods because the shifter is fine to me. Plus, I don’t want to make it harder for my wife to drive the car, since it’s a family car.

I have Hybrid Racing sitting in my garage for a few months. I really want to try it before I spend time installing it.

Does anyone have a Hybrid Racing installed and willing to meet? I am happy to meet in one of the following areas in CA:
- San Francisco
- Peninsula
- East Bay
- San Jose

Please PM me if possible.

I installed the entire Acuity Stage 2 kit on my DE5 and IMO it dials the experience in. No experience with hybrid racing shifter though. Got the install and my review below which is the same for FL5.
You cannot get to one of the clips to remove the shift linkage bushings without removing at least the upper charge pipe and coupler to the throttle body.

Thank you for the advice if I’m not wrong I watched your video and start following you after I saw this one. But is too complex ? but I look more into that and might go your route.
