Is the Phearable tune generally regarded as a more aggressive tune compared to the TSP? Phearable states like 380whp on 93 on a stock vehicle. TSP is around 360whp on 93 on what looks to be a basic bolt-on car. Is this just down to differences in dyno? I know max whp numbers don’t matter as dynos read different, but even the advertised gains over stock are quite different.

Trying to pick one of these tunes. From the initial dyno of this post they seem pretty similar so far.

You can’t go wrong with any of these offerings in my opinion. Advertising numbers are one thing but generally 370-380whp is custom tune territory. I would support the vendors here if it were my money. @Two Step Performance has contributed to the forum and the platform a lot and just that support goes a long way.

I also offer tunes here in the forum and have had great results too. I even have a whole thread on Hondata and tuning these cars which you can check for more info or education.

Thanks for the perspective! Yeah I have been following your Hondata thread. Some great information in there.

Not sure I need the custom tune as I’ll only be TSP DP and maybe intercooler at some point. Something worth considering tho. May PM you to get more info on your options.

I have had good results with top tier gas brands. The list is online, but a few are Sunoco, Shell, Costco.

Is costco 93 acually good? I tend to go only to shell

I personally use shell but from the people I have tuned it has shown great results and it is listed as a top tier fuel on the top tier website.

Any feedback from either tuner as to why their tune was pulling timing on 93 other than "less than great gas"? That experience would steer me away from either one if I knew that I had to put research into where I buy my 93 octane while driving around north Texas.

So I am not a tuner so am just speculating. But my bet is two things are true:

1) Tuners want to get as much power out of the 93 tune as possible so they want to optimize power under good conditions. Power numbers sell Particularly since they also provide 91 octane tunes that are more conservative.

2) The ECU is pretty decent at protecting the motor by pulling timing if there is minor knock occurring. So the risk of optimizing power within reason is pretty low.

Open to more informed opinions.

Tried to fill up as much as possible w/ Costco 93 on my tuned 10th gen Si and never saw any indication that the fuel wasn't just as good as anywhere else.

It's Top Tier. There's nothing really to discuss. It's as good if not better than ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, etc.

Not all of us tune for maximum power, but this is real numbers sell. My approach at least is to optimize the tune and make more power but keep it super safe that you can enjoy the car as intended from the factory. A lot of times I end up sacrificing power for a smoother and linear power curve.
