These are first-level or Tier 1 deterrents. Faraday boxes/pouches can leak signals, and thieves can access the CANBUS without going through the OBD II port. Apple AirTag/Samsung SmartTag are also in this tier, and something I would skip. I've researched this extensively over the last several months, and it seems you're best protected with all of the following: anti-theft + security/alarm + GPS tracking. Specifically, IGLA + Compustar PRO T13 + DRONEMOBILE X1 Max. Even then, you haven't burned down the risk completely because the car can still be towed. Most thieves take the path of least resistance and would move on from a car that is well protected instead of racking their brains and spending the time to defeat all layers of protection.

Anyhow, keen to hear from OP on the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the car.
IGLA I'm seeing different products under that name. What are you suggesting to go along with compustar + drone max.

Seriously. Why bother posting without details? Especially since I see your location, pretty close to home. I get that things are probably chaotic at the moment, but if you felt compelled to share, please spare no lack of detail.
Out of all the things you could say, this is what you're putting on the OP? He obviously has a lot on his plate. Don't be a dick.

Ooh, dealer two doesn't pay dealer 1, even though you paid for the car, dealer one comes to pick up the car. Wild if this is the case. Super shady dealer two as well. selling to you without clean title? All speculation of course. This is like a cliffhanger!!

IGLA Alarm is the name of the product. The product will read 'ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM' on the box.

Yep. And I'd expect it to be done to me if I posted up "my car just got stolen" with no further details and their location happened to be in the same general vicinity.

Lots of room for interpretation for dick moves.

Update: So it wasn't a true 'theft'. Police viewed the camera they have on my street and saw that it appeared to be a repo. Tow truck and another car with dealer plates. The thing is that I bought that car cash, full ownership, clear title. And NOT from the same dealer that took it. The dealer that took it is two towns over, some 50 miles away. I was not told which dealer it was or I would have gone there to demand my car back. I will be hiring a lawyer and pursue an illegal seizure suit.
I would have thought the police could take action on this. Since you should be able to prove ownership of the car, this is technically a theft.

I imagine dealership #1 has a lien on the car title that never got paid by dealership #2 (the dealership that sold the car.)

So what can happen is this:

dealership #1 transfers the car to dealer #2 with a lien agreement

dealer 2 sells the car, transfers the title. The financial institution(s) that handled this transaction would be responsible for paying out the lien before any other payouts. However, the lien has to be filed with the state.

Just because you have a lien on a title doesn’t mean it automatically shows up in the system. They would be responsible for filing the lien.

The car possibly transferred lots and sold quick, before the lien had a chance to be filed and processed by the state.

Regardless of what happened, this sounds like a major flub and/or shady business practices.

I hope you get a nice pay day out of all this hassle!

Makes you wonder how many other people have been victimized by this...

many vulnerable and marginalized minorities don’t have the resources to fight back against this kind of scam.

so sorry OP, you deserve a brand new car and then some.

maybe they already sold or transferred the car off again after the repo?

It’s like they want to tie you up in court battles while they keep making profit.

The OP shouldn’t even have to be hiring lawyers if the dealership(s) involved just did their jobs right.

customer service is dead to these people.

If the OP had got some kind of car loan instead of paying full cash on the spot, they could’ve been insulated from this scam.

Future advice for future buyers?
