Holy shit, man! I'm really sorry to hear this.

I wonder how they pulled this off if the keys were in a faraday cage. Where was the car parked?

Again, I'm sorry this happened to you, I hope it gets resolved quickly.

Damn that sucks, hopefully they'll find it back. Did you have any sort of tracking device in it? Airtag? tracker card?

I'm sorry to hear this and I'm sure you're reeling. When you have a moment, can you share the details of what occurred? Was the car parked on the street, in a private garage, a parking garage? Did you have any of the anti-theft (i.e., IGLA, Compustar, SES, etc.) or tracking (i.e. HondaLink, Apple Airtags, GPS) systems installed/active ? Any video footage in the car or surrounding areas? Any odd instances in the run up to the car disappearing?

Seriously. Why bother posting without details? Especially since I see your location, pretty close to home. I get that things are probably chaotic at the moment, but if you felt compelled to share, please spare no lack of detail.

Wow! You can never have too many layers of security but I would have thought that would have been enough
These are first-level or Tier 1 deterrents. Faraday boxes/pouches can leak signals, and thieves can access the CANBUS without going through the OBD II port. Apple AirTag/Samsung SmartTag are also in this tier, and something I would skip. I've researched this extensively over the last several months, and it seems you're best protected with all of the following: anti-theft + security/alarm + GPS tracking. Specifically, IGLA + Compustar PRO T13 + DRONEMOBILE X1 Max. Even then, you haven't burned down the risk completely because the car can still be towed. Most thieves take the path of least resistance and would move on from a car that is well protected instead of racking their brains and spending the time to defeat all layers of protection.

Anyhow, keen to hear from OP on the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the car.

Update: So it wasn't a true 'theft'. Police viewed the camera they have on my street and saw that it appeared to be a repo. Tow truck and another car with dealer plates. The thing is that I bought that car cash, full ownership, clear title. And NOT from the same dealer that took it. The dealer that took it is two towns over, some 50 miles away. I was not told which dealer it was or I would have gone there to demand my car back. I will be hiring a lawyer and pursue an illegal seizure suit.

Doesn't the dealership sell and banks finance. Why would a dealership have anything to do with a repo after a sale and accompany a repo on a job. Pretty sure a vin and quick run of plates would provide the information to the repo company on the vehicle. None of this makes any sense.

Oh, man. To the extent you can, please share the outcome when you have it! 🍿🍿

my guess was going to be a tow. but an accidental repo is wild. surely you have called the tow company to see who requested the car back or all dealerships "2 towns over"? either way, I see this working out in your favor.

Wow! That’s quite the screw up! They must realize by now that they have the wrong car. Very curious to hear how this turns out.
