So I just got my upgraded R660 AS today, which means I’ll need some supporting mods so I don’t stress out the fuel system for my FL5. In regard to fuel pumps, I’ve heard great things about Full Race’s new HPFP which pushes 68% more fuel compared to OEM. Probably because it also comes with a HUGE high pressure line opening that beats even “professionally” drilled lines out there. Though I’ve never heard of Nostrum High Performance, anyone satisfied and/or experienced any problems with your Full Race HPFP so far?
I’ve also been looking at XDI’s upcoming HPFP60 for the Type R’s (assuming they want to compete with Full Race’s offering) which is currently up for pre-order on their website. They state that the HPFP60 has a 63% increase capacity over OEM. But price is $300 more when compared to Full Race’s $1,999, going at $2,299 retail. Interesting to hear that Instead of a stainless steel high pressure line, they are going with a soft line to replace the OEM hard line restriction, stating that it makes installation easier due to its semi-flexible nature (Rated to 6,000 PSI). XDI HPFP60 also has a higher capable bar rating at 260 compared to 250 of Full Race, and was tested at a higher RPM at 10,000 on a 4.0mm lobe. For geometric volume, 1.66cc / rev > +63% capacity with 4.0mm lobe (27% more over XDI’s EVO). And 2.08cc / rev > +104% capacity on 5.0mm lobe (34% more over XDI’s EVO). I wonder how these two HPFP’s will compare once it’s released. For those currently running XDI HPFP’s or even their injectors, has it been reliable regardless of what you throw at it?
While snooping on XDI’s page, it was interesting to see that their 2500cc injectors (+115% flow over OEM) are available for purchase too. I assume those will probably be a BIG learning curve for tuners, since the 2000cc was quite difficult to tune when it was released back then. Though XDI didn’t state whether Hondata or MoTeC was used for their testing, i’ve heard that the 2500cc is possible on Hondata. K20C1 has been out for a while and I’m amazed the aftermarket support is still going strong after all these years!
