After a very long wait, I finally received and got my Fujitsubo A-RM+C exhaust installed. Because there aren’t many full on reviews or sound clips of this exhaust, I figured I would post a review.
We’ll start with what I was looking for in my quest for an exhaust. My car is my daily, and my goal has been to select classy, high quality mods that improve the shortcomings of the stock car, but are livable, fit well, and aren’t annoying/obnoxious to the rest of the world. So my “perfect” exhaust would be:
Packaging: The exhaust and front pipe came in extremely well packed. I’ve had exhausts for other cars that show up with hardly any packing material and brackets poking out the side of the box. This was not the case with this exhaust. Tons of packing material, hardware was clamshelled, and all pieces were accounted for.
Build quality: I would say excellent. The welds, brackets, clamps, etc are all extremely well made. I am confident this thing is built to last.
Install: I can’t really speak to this. I don’t have a lift, and I didn’t have the energy to try and remove/install an exhaust in my tiny garage. I did speak to my installer, and he said fitment and install was smooth sailing. I will say that the instructions are in Japanese only. So you’ll need to use Google Translate if you don’t speak it.
Fitment. No issues with fitment at all. No rattles or clearance issues to note.
Design: Overall, I like it. The two carbon tips have a great weave to them and matte look is very classy. I do with the tips sat a tiny bit higher in the exhaust cutout, but seeing the Helmholtz chambers peaking through is pretty cool too. I also really appreciate the flat bottoms of the mufflers for clearance purposes, and the laser cut “Fujitsubo” logo is pretty awesome as well.
Sound: I’m going to split this up into a few sections because sound has a number of qualities to it.
Performance: honestly, I don’t think I gained much power. Maybe a few HP, but I really wasn’t after gains with this mod. It is quite a bit lighter than the stock exhaust, so there were some advantages there.
Anyway, I’m happy with my decision, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mature sound, no drone, and fantastic quality.
Ps. I’m on stock downpipe and stock tune.
Edit: added an in-car driving video for those interested.

So my “perfect” exhaust would be:
- Reasonably quiet, but with good tone.
- ZERO drone
- Great fitment
- Something that looked better than stock. TBH, I hate the way the OEM exhaust looks. The FK8’s looked better, and I was tired of looking at it.

- Volume: I was looking for OEM+, and I feel like that’s what I got. I would say that it’s about 15-20% louder than stock with the valve open. Please note that this exhaust does not have a valve, so the volume is what you get. Volume in cabin is primarily noticeable under 2500rpm, and quiets down above that. Normal cruising at highway speeds, you near a very faint low hum, but you have to consciously listen for it.
- Tone: Deep and smooth at lower rpm, mid and high rpm transitions to a roaring wail. There is also an overall slight tinniness to the tone that titanium is known for. If you’re looking for a gnarly growl, you’re not going to like this exhaust.
- Drone: This is the question that everyone ask for every exhaust. I want to preface that some people are more (or less) tolerant of drone. I am less tolerant. I hate it, and as I’ve aged, I’m even less tolerant. I can confidently say that drone is almost entirely nonexistent. The day it was installed, there was notable drone at 1500-1750rpm. However, I’ve put about 100 miles on it since and that has almost entirely gone away. At highway speeds, zero drone. 45-50mph, zero drone. I cannot say how pleased I am that I dodged the drone bullet. Haha.
