Good to know and honestly that’s what I was hoping for. I’m new to track days & tend to dive in and do my homework. I’ve been reading and watching and asking questions. I’m excited to get after it and learn from folks who have seat time.
I went last year and just hung out because I am the same way. This will be my first time tracking the car and I am super excited and the whole crew has been super supportive and answered all of my questions.

Do your research on wings, but save your money and spend it on good brake pads, better brake fluid, and come out in May. Add the wing later when you need it. Now if you just want look, send it.

This is good advice. Pads and tires for your first time is all you need.

I am going in way over-built and going to have to lay off some.

AYO still? Who’s to say I don’t have track tires, lighter wheels, better pads, better fluid? Goodness gracious my friend, let me breathe! Lmao I will make sure to check in with you next time I want to start a discussion 😆

You said you were new to track days so I was trying to provide some friendly advice. You didn't say you had any of that stuff when @TypeRVA mentioned it.

Try being less of a dick. People here are genuinely trying to be helpful.

We’re talking past each other.

I mentioned VIR only as context for where the car will be used. The question was about validated aero and balance, because I’ve been learning more about aero on my own and wanted to reach out to the community to learn more. When you keep steering it into lap times/experience checks, it comes across like gatekeeping rather than answering the question.

The issue isn’t advice — the issue is the assumptions behind it that I I haven’t done basic research or prep. If this was a post asking specifically for advice at VIR for a new guy then hell yes pour it on…but it wasn’t. It was just supplemental.

I’ve been respectful the whole time though I will admit my last comment was snarky because of my incredulity. But I have not insulted you, as you just did to me. Cheers

I appreciate the self awareness. Sorry for the insult. I too was being a little snarky because of your snarkiness. Cheers back.

All good brother 🤝 tone gets lost online. I do appreciate the VIR feedback — I just felt backed into a corner as a newer guy.

@Djseto is cool in real life and a hell of a driver. The internet is just bad for communication.
I’ll take you at your word! I know interpretation is largely ambiguous…I don’t always come across the way I would like when I’m trying to help folks close to me.

Someone’s gotta teach me how to not wreck my daily my first day on track 🤣
