Hey folks!

2025 FL5 with around 4000 miles w/ an overrev (3rd to 2nd) a few weeks ago. Did a full leak down / compression test and tuner said car drives and feels fine with no issues they can tell - oil changed with no metal and sample is out with blackstone just in case as well.

However recently started noticing some new noises in the car, specifically during warm starts. This particular sound happens at idle and seems like flywheel chatter from what I can tell (video attached below). Noise is less loud when clutch is fully depressed (not engaged). Not sure if others have this but it’s not really audible when driving or revving at idle or with the windows down. Can’t tell any change in performance when driving (put about 100 miles after the shop gave the car the okay).

I know FL5s have single mass flywheels and those are usually lighter and can create some noise, but with the overrev I’m not sure if this is normal or not. Can other type r owners confirm if they’ve noticed similar sounds? Trying to figure out if I need to bring it back to the shop or not.

thanks in advance for the help!

Yeah, I’ve got the same noise. I don’t think it’s the clutch, I think it’s the gear shafts rotating and gears/syncros rattling around without any load on them. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

It's very normal to hear a change in noise clutch-out vs clutch -in. Throw out bearing, clutch, and engine all get loaded clutch-in and the transmission input shaft stops spinning.
This is very noticeable on motorcycles, since you're sitting right over the powertrain.

Thanks for confirming y'all, the overrev has me paranoid on sounds in the car so appreciate the validation.

Also interesting to hear its noticeable on bikes too - I do ride a CBR600rr so I'll have to pay attention to if it has a similar noise!

i revved into 2nd with no error code a while back did a full leakdown compression the whole 9, pulled the oil pan looked at rods bearings. literally everything you can imagine it was an absolute mission, car stored no codes, there was zero physical damage, i wouldn't worry about it too much the platform produces a lot of harmonics and vibration
