This only grinded the one time, so hopefully it doesn't end up like that haha.My buddy’s ‘95 Prelude had a sychro problem with 1st gear. He had to do the exact same thing ; Grind it into 1st down from 2nd every time. At the time, I guess 1st gear sychro problems were somewhat common with the Prelude, so he didn’t have to argue too much to get Honda to fix it.
I’ve never heard of anyone having this issue with their FL5’s, but it doesn’t mean it can’t. My valves were over-tightened from the factory. It set off a random CEL twice before they figured out what was going on. Stuff happens. These cars are built on an assembly line, not slooooowly and meticulously, one by one, to perfection, like Rolls Royces.
And yeah, it is what it is. As long as it doesn't happen again or they take care of it, I can't be mad. I did find a couple examples of FK8 owners having something sorta similar, but I'm too lazy to go find it again
