Fake engine noise defeat-ed!

OMG....so THE most disappointing thing about the Type R in the 2 weeks I've owned it was the HORRID, digital fake engine noise they pipe in when in +R mode...WHY?! WHY???!!! The engine sounds SOOOO good as it is! Why ruin that?! Like the newer ADX....sounds like a dying cow in sport mode! No, really. lol.

So yesterday I pulled the glove box, side panel, air vent (partially) and lower trim and....PRESTO! No more fake noise and defeated the ANC as well.

BOSE system still sounds lame vs the TLX/RDX ELS studio surround system, but I'll fix that, maybe. I never did add the amp/sub/capacitor to the TLX because it was more about ENGINE sound vs radio. So we'll see....no extra weight!!

Anyway, sound so much better and a MUST DO mod!

It's bad. If you haven't heard/had a Acura ELS system? It's not even close, sadly. I was all excited at first....then heard it on the way home for the first time and....>BLAH!!

My type s has the els. It’s like musical angels are fucking U in the ears. Glorious.

however. I don’t think the bose is bad. It’s ok imo. I hate how flat it is. I hate how it barely obeys eq changes. I hate the type r feels too expensive to have such a set up. But I don’t think it’s bad. Just a little too basic. Kinda like a “baby’s first decent sound system” vibe LOL

to be fair to U. I am not an audiophile. I got bad tinnitus and my hearing in my left ear is a little fucked. Allegedly

ha...yeah, I used to build audio systems back in the day. So the ELS in the TLX/RDX/MDX was amazing, for the most part. But really nice! The MDX Type S is off the charts good! I want close to that in the FL5

on my Si, it sounds like gravel banging around a tin can. I thought my engine was about to blow but it only does it in Sport mode.

Yeah, I had a ADX loaner and put it in Sport mode....sounded like a dying cow...really. So put it back into comfort so it sounded like a regular car again! LOL

yeah, i wasn't even a fan of the Integra type s....although the bigger the car, the better it sounds. Gives you more room for the sound waves to fully unfold.

Yeah, that's why the MDX sounds so much better than the RDX and that better than the TLX. I remember back in the day, my Honda odyssey, had 2 10's in the spare tire well behind the front seats....was ok....but when I move it to the rear seat (which was removed), well, a single 10", it was EPIC! And Sooooo much harder hitting!
