Every dealer I spoke to in GTA wanted a deposit to get on list. I am #1 on mine with deposit, still no info but they are expecting 3-4 cars in total

If you are 1 to 3 on a waitlist you should def have a deposit in. Ya sucks to be in GTA, i put myself on a waitlist this August in Halifax and I'm only #4 on list. Can you guys buy out of province? I'd drive from ON to Manitoba to get mine tbh.
I was thinking about that as an option, but I had some trouble getting a reservation just outside of my region (GTA). Both places I called, one in Kitchener Ontario and other in Durham region told me I'd have to have residence in the area. Might have been the dealerships though.

Id keep calling, Winnipeg or Brandon too. I know it's far but hey it's probably worth it. In GTA might be awhile till you get one.

it's funny you can buy a used car across the country but you can't on a new car... i don't buy it ... i think dealerships when it comes to CTR just don't wanna bother with people they know they can sell before they even print out paper work... like i mentioned earlier there are 3 versions of the story dealerships are saying and all within 50 kms of pearson airport lol

Yeah you might be on to something. If you're really desperate I'd honestly email all dealerships in Canada. Just write an email and copy paste. You'll only get lucky if you find a place that has no name on it yet. Id pay up to 5k to get the car shipped to me. It would probably not even cost 5k.

i don't mind to drive it back perfect way to break it in... i did email honda canada ... i just wanna get to the bottom of this ... just disappointed that i thought putting a deposit a year ahead would guarantee me a spot but if the dealership don't honor it ... i also have a deposit on the circuit pack next door for a GRC .. i would trade the GRC for a CTR though

Aren't most new engines already broken in? If not, not sure if this is correct but usually highway driving is not the best way to break in an engine. You need more variety in speed and such.

This is what the Honda's Owner's Manual for the 2022 Civic says:

During the first 600 miles (1,000 km) of operation, avoid sudden acceleration or full throttle operation so as not to damage the engine or powertrain.

Avoid hard braking for the first 200 miles (300 km) after purchasing your new vehicle or replacing the brake pads or rotors, to allow for proper break-in.

that's true most say engines don't need to be broken in but then a car like the nsx they run the engine in the factory before dropping it in to break it in and do quality control... and yeah driving at different speeds rather than constant

Just got off the phone with Honda Canada Customer Relations... they said that vehicle purchase, order, or pre-order is never done through them and it's always a process to be done at the dealership.

Sounds like its confirmed then that those dealers that are returning deposits and telling you to go online won't have allocations.
