Budget exhaust setup

PRL intake, PRL front pipe, MRT midpipe (front resonator delete), Vibrant 1793 (rear resonator swap), valve fuse pulled

Did it stages so can talk a bit about the different setups:

PRL intake + PRL FP: more intake sound and thats about it. Maybe the exhaust was a little louder but it wasnt noticeable

Intake + FP + midpipe: MRT midpipe is just a prefabbed front resonator delete that clamps in. Gained noticeable volume but it did introduce a little drone at 4k rpms. Very tolerable and would still recommend deleting the resonator but drone was present and it was a little raspy

Intake + FP + MP + Vibrant 1793: decided to swap the giant stock resonator for a Vibrant 1793 which is a bit smaller. It's a little louder than the previous setup but the tone is much better imo. Less rasp, more of that deeper rumble and it managed to kill what little drone I was hearing. If youre leaning towards a dual delete but dont want to deal with drone or angry lawn mower raspiness this was a perfect compromise imo.

Thank you for this. I think drone is a very individual perceptive sound where some people can't differentiate drone and some people are okay with drone I hate drone

I also have been debating replacing the center resonator with a less restrictive one like the vibrant or one of the megaphone ones



I know the Acura has a factory pop and verbal tune which we do not

Are you able to get any driving clips from the outside for us please

Thank you for this. I think drone is a very individual perceptive sound where some people can't differentiate drone and some people are okay with drone I hate drone

No problem. Something really interesting to consider might be to use both the vibrant resonator and FMUs megaphone. Having just 1 stock resonator does seem to introduce some drone since they're designed to work together but the vibrant does a good job on its own so I wouldn't be worried about adding a megaphone further up the midpipe (like in their video). Theoretically they'd work really well together. You'd get the drone absorption from the resonator and the louder top end frequencies from the megaphone. It would be louder and probably a bit raspier and sportier than what you hear in my videos

Thank you. Have you tried undoing the fuse mod too see how sound/drone is in comfort mode?

Well i have no drone atm so no need to. And when i was hearing drone i had no interest in closing the valve. It kind of defeats the purpose of deleting resonators and it really wasnt loud enough to justify it imo

Does megaphone add exhaust velocity/power/sound attenuation/drone reduction?

The idea of a megaphone reminds me of this gern pipe for the s2000

Based on my research it transforms the exhaust tone by changing some of the low frequency pulses to higher pitched. So high rpms will be a lot louder and low rpms will be more muted. It doesnt eliminate drone but itll make it higher pitched which can be more tolerable.

Im debating swapping my mid resonator for the Corsa resonator.

Im debating swapping my mid resonator for the Corsa resonator.
Hard to say if it's gotten louder. If you plan on a single resonator setup I'd probably put it where the stock rear resonator is. Typically the further back it's placed the more it'll help with drone but it does come down to preference

I have not received any money but did get over 30 UWU’s

so here’s the video. Car has stock dp. In sport plus. Prl intake, pwr intercooler and q300 cat back exhaust with front pipe. The resonator was removed and we swapped in the fluid motor union megaphone. The 3” in and out one.
