RS3, IS500 and Alfa Guilia QF are the cars I’d buy if manual. Probably IS first.

I am capping it at 65k. Could I do more ya but do more ya but depending perspective I’m either cheap of fiscally responsible.

Also I’m mainly interested in driving enjoyment, unfortunately going from Type R to M3 will also (from a lot of others even though I have not driven the new M3 for example) So then what are we really getting? A higher end badge and more horsepower? On top of that you can’t use it on the street without going in the clink? After being in a 70k amg the build quality didn’t look even marginally better than my STI.

while I haven’t driven the new type R I have driventhe last gen and both comp and non comp of the G80. The G80 has made a significant improvement in steering feel and enjoyment from the prior F80. Its more closer to Porsche then it has been in the past. While it has improved I still believe the Type R was a more fun vehicle on the road. Way quicker rack, more direct, playful, and useful power. Let alone when it’s half the price it’s a no brained.

The G80 is more of a highway cruiser think of it as the new M5. The interior is a lot nicer though, so you do get that increased luxury.

For me with these mark ups with the type R being over 55k without tax. I would rather just pay more to get an M3. Yes it’s 20-25k more but I would rather do that then pay a mark up. Yes you can get G80’s without a mark up if you order. You will wait awhile to get one but they can be had. Msrp for msrp type R all day long.

Anyone looking at the V6 G70? I'd be into it except for the fact that Genesis promised 100% electric by 2025. My thinking is, why would I buy a car with an engine that won't be actively produced 3 years from now?

2 different class of cars. Imo no 2nd fun/weekend car should be 2 doors. If you want a cool car thats 4 doors just make it your DD.

Im obviously heavily biased because I love muscle cars but if I had to choose one it would be the Challenger. I didn't even consider getting a CTR till after I got my Mustang and saw the appeal of it. Interior definitely favors the CTR, but the R/T is an American classic. CTR is definitely more unique and special though.
