Hi,

I have a 2025 Honda Civic Type R FL5. Has anyone managed to get the activation right to auto engage the handbrake when you switch off the vehicle? I had a 2023 Honda Civic RS 1.5T and on my previous car I did manage to enable the automatic engagement of the handbrake when I switched the vehicle off. It almost seems this function is only available on the CVT Models?

Turn on brake hold each time you start the car

Hi, Thanks
I'm not too sure that is the solution I'm looking for though. On my cvt I would drive without brake hold. I like to be able to crawl forward in traffic (don't use brake hold) and then when I get to my destination, I simply switch off the car and walk away. It would automatically engage the handbrake for me. On the Type R it does not do that. See page 547 in manual.

my parking brake comes on 95% of the time when turning off the car, can't quite figure out what happens the 5% of the time it doesn't not auto come on, it's started to roll once or twice when getting out ...

I would love to have this functionality, not really sure why it doesnt seem to exist. If the car is off theres very little reason not to have the hand brake on.

Where I live, winter is wet and cold..IF the E-Brake was to come on every time I turned off the ignition, I would be hard pressed to drive anywhere with the brakes frozen in the "on" mode.

Not sure if it's possible to do that. I believe the reason it doesn't come on is for the guys that track, you don't want the parking brake to engage when the brakes are hot-hot. It's the same on Porsches as well.
