Maybe there's some truth to what I heard after all.
Which would be fantastic news and would obviously mean we would not be waiting long for our cars....
I'll try not to get my hopes up too much in regards to this, but that's good to hear.

The thing is, I told my dealer I don’t want to pick it up until I can move into my new house haha. Right now still renting a shared house and don’t want to let people see my new baby. I’m currently driving a wrecked GE8 with a big hole in the bumper and misaligned fender panel. Got hit and run by a UTE with its toe hinge while I was at work.

I paid a deposit and signed a contract, but so far, crickets.

Feels like dating, when you are waiting to hear back from someone you like and think is super cool. And just like dating, no news, is usually, not good news.

I was told by dealer/agent for Honda, who knows how accurate, that only 120 imported and that they were here already, but getting one was a lottery.

Hoping I may get a call Monday but unfortunately think I need to find an alternative.

Yes, may still be a chance. But I would have thought they could make 120 calls to those allocated in a day. Sure they are keen to get their money asap.

I ordered White, Blue as second choice. Probably prefer the Blue, dealer said Blue would be rarer but more chance of getting in white.

I paid a deposit about 11:30 am and signed a contract about 12:30 on Tuesday 19/8.

I registered interest and test drove back in May. They asked me to pay a deposit of $1,000 in May, but I was waiting for some work issues to sort themselves out.

Weird coincidence but I emailed the dealer on Monday evening to let them know I would like I pay the $1k deposit. Did not realise until after, that Honda had started a process a few hours earlier for the current release with $5k deposit.

I got a call on 22/8 and was offered an allocation, however it wasn't my first and only colour preference (white) so i declined the allocation. Im hoping for a MIRACLE MY 2026.

Do you mind sharing which state you're based in?

From what I heard each state gets their own allocation and you'll have to compete within the pool of your state(local dealer).

Received a call from Honda today, 25/8/25, to let me know I had been allocated a white Type R.

Based on above comments does sound like maybe allocations based on State pool of vehicles. I am in NSW.

congrats. It seems that they only started calling people in NSW today

I’m also in NSW but hasn’t received the call yet but not surprised because I only signed the contract at around 4pm 19/08

my local dealer told me I should still be able to get one(white) based on what he can see so hoping I can receive the photo tomorrow

I received another call from my dealer just now.
The story of 50 already being on the ground in Oz was true. And one of them is mine.
It's at a storage facility at Kembla Grange. 20 mins from my house!

He's going to try to schedule a truck to pick it up. Eta to me after delivery, pd, rego etc. 7-10 days.

Niccceeeee!!!! I wish mine one comes a bit later lol, don’t want to pick up before I move into my new house. Currently still renting a shared house with my definitely non road worthy Honda Jazz haha. Big hole in the bumper, misaligned hood and front fender.

Congrats all so far who have secured an allocation!! I'm sure it's been as tense a wait for most people as it has been for me

I placed a deposit down earlier in the year once I heard there was rumours of a 2025 delivery, so have been waiting quite a few months. Had the contract signed within 10 minutes of the orders going live, and got the call last Thursday to say I'd been allocated a Type R! Got my first and only choice of Racing Blue, which myself and my incredible dealer are pumped as to see Car arrives in my area in early Sept, and I'll be picking it up a few weeks later.

When I was chatting to Honda Corporate they seemed to indicate that this Sept drop would not be the last delivery of Type R's to Aus, so I wouldn't lose hope as there may be more 2025 builds coming later in the year or even early next year. Can't imagine it would be a huge number, but hopefully enough to help the few last people hoping to get an FL5 before it goes away for good (sadly)!
