Yeah. Some of the fees don’t even make sense. I saw on guy get billed for a tariff fee what was more than what he paid for the product. It’s a total shitshow. I really hope something changes soon.
Yea I think i seen the post on the FB group where a guy had to pay $600 fee for a Project Aero front splitter

I bought the Spoon N1 exhaust from BHJ no problem, but the shipping cost which I assume had the tariffs built in was $$$. Shipped quickly though.

How long ago? Cause you're lucky if you bought it and got it shipped before the De Minimis exemption ended at the end of August and didn't get hit with additional customs fees and taxes.

Yes, I'm aware but I've had it where they've counted the $800 exemption towards the value of my purchase to not hit me as much. Or some retailers will even pre-pay the duties.

I might just pull the trigger. Wheels I'm looking to get are $3307 shipped to the US. With new tariff rate on Japan @ 15%. I'm looking at $496.05 in duty fees that I'll pay to customs.

I would still be saving over $500 - $800 compared to buying here. If everything goes according to plan 😂

If you’re interested and you’re patient, you could do container shipping and you won’t get hit with surprise tariffs.

Buyer beware is all I can say. It's a very uncertain time with all of this going on and consumers and retailers are both getting hit by surprise regularly because the situation keeps changing and the fees are unclear. (it's not "just the tariff")

I ordered some time in August, was delivered first week September. took about a month, same as my Spoon springs i ordered from them. Shipping was $800.00 Fed Ex for exhaust, i assume tariff's played some roll in that. Came on a pallet, big ol box!

⚠ Important Note on Grey Market Mugen Parts

There’s a lot of confusion in the community about where Mugen parts come from overseas, so here’s some clarity.

Companies like Blackhawk, Nengun, and RHD Japan do not have any official affiliation with Mugen. They get parts through grey market channels, which means:

  • They cannot verify authenticity of the products.
  • They cannot provide a direct Mugen warranty.
  • Many of these items are shipped into the U.S. marked as “gifts,” which is why the Mugen logos on the boxes are taped over or not in Mugen packaging at all .

This loophole is closed now, so that practice won’t last much longer.

If you’re buying Mugen, remember — it’s always better to support companies here in the U.S. that not only provide warranty protection, but also invest back into our car culture and community.

Anyone have any new movement on this? Was looking at wheels from Blackhawk and while shipping is crazy it's still magnitudes less expensive than here in the US. Even if hit with 500$ tarrif for wheels.
