Yeah yeah, I had to bring the damn CTR home, and took it ONCE to the corner grocery store...but haven't 'driven' it in just about a week otherwise: Weather and 3 cars in the drive, so it's a pain to move things around....

Yesterday the TLX Type S got turned in, or rather SOLD to the dealer....made a killing on it btw! :) So this am was the FIRST trip to work in the new beast! And yeah, it's a beast! Granted with the stock rubber it's horrible in cold damp CLE this morning, but after it grabs and you get on it....it's FAAASSSTTTT!! LOVE it!

I'll miss that growl of the 3.0 in the Type S, and the SH AWD is a wicked system....but I do now own the "fastest FWD car around Nürburgring" so there's that. And yes, I WILL be tracking it this year at both MidOhio and Nelson Ledges!!

Anyway. Do I miss the Type S? I guess. I developed a lot for that car...but this?! This is my dream and it's wicked! :)

Just for fun I wanted to look up some FL5 reviews. Just to solidify that I have bought THE best car of it's kind in the world....and it's eye opening how GOOD this car really is!

Be really careful on the OEM tires below 40degF. They are essentially glass hard near freezing. It sucks that cold weather power is great but the tires can't handle it.

Tread lightly!

You don't own the fastest frontwheel drive around the Ring..They want you to think that..Watch the video of that "FL5" going around thew Ring..They Do Not show you the tach or the speedo or the gear selection for a lot of the run..Why? Because they have the boost turned up AND trhey have a different gear ratio installed in the tranny on 6th gear..so it will pull Harder in 6th ..Top speed is not what they were going for..pulling power up to redline in 6TH is where the lap times come down. It was a clever ploy by Honda Advertising and it worked..I wish we had their transmission ratio in 6th gear in my FL5.

Quite a bit of tinfoil hattery there lol- The camera is in place and isn't cut away at any point even once during the entire video. You can see the dash the entire time.

And….. like I’m ever gonna run around the ring lol. Besides all of those numbers being absolutely irrelevant. But it’s cool that it’s the fastest FWDcar around the ring lol

No need to piss in anyone’s Cheerios. Lol! I mean…it’s not like it’s a fake FL5 or something. It obviously fit the rules, so it can’t be too different from the production car. AND they did build and sell a certain number of limited S-Grade FL5’s in Europe to satisfy the rules as well. Did the record setting car have a special tune and bespoke software? Yeah possibly (the latter for sure). It definitely didn’t have a special suspension. We can see that! LOL! Anyway…I’m sure other automakers do the same things. It doesn’t really matter. The FL5 is the record holder.

what gear is he in..at the same time the gear is visible, what speed is the car going? with road speed and gear number, we can compare the gear ratio we have compared to what he has..6th gear is going to be different...What does the turbo boost on his car show and at what rpm in what gear??If we knew his boost and rpm, and gear, we could compare it to our FL5, stock spec. His has more boost, possibly near 29 PSI , compared to our 23/23 in stock spec. His car is not the same as stock spec FL5 we own..5 or 6 extra PSI boost along with a shorted 6th gear would make his car very much quicker around a course that ours..I won't even go into cooling systems, oil spec or tyre spec he may be running..A stock FL5 on The Ring tends to melt down..even with euro spec 5W-30 oil. Tinfoil or not, he has a different 6th gear ratio and we can't see all of the data on his dashboard..I wonder why?

Who cares? This is so 2023, I kind of forgot about this video. If the man is thrilled that he owns the fastest FWD production car around the Ring, let him have that.

Speaking of voyage....Day...whatever now of driving it DAILY! New tires went on yesterday, making it look better, drive better and feel better. The 275/35-19 Vredestein Hypertracs are SWEET as always!

Supple ride. Great handling in the crap, cold, salt of CLE and some GRIP finally! Man this car is FAST! The TLX Type S, highly modded was....faster?....much more 'violence of action' as that car just TOOOK OFF! And the SH AWD is wicked!

But the CTR? It's just FAST! Smoother application, even in comfort mode it has gobs of pull!!

So stoked for the better weather!
