Go ahead and get your deposit back on the CTR and don't waste your time entertaining because you won't like that one either. If you're benchmarking these cars against Porsche GT cars, these vehicles don't stand a chance, and frankly, it's nonsensical.
Let him drive the CTR and report back. The majority of his points had nothing to do with power, and as a former Porsche owner myself, I'm curious as to his impressions of the CTR. Nobody comes from a Porsche to a CTR or DE5 with the same expectations, that would be silly.

I haven't even see a FL5 in person yet.. We will see tomorrow.
the shifter felt great.. Wasn't much different than the 992 GT3 I have.. very precise, possibly shorter throws than the GT3.. it's very similar.
Let us know how it goes and your impressions of it in general and then compared to the Acura.

people love to point out "aweful panel gaps" and point to the area where the quarter panel/bumper meet.. but the same has been observed with FL5.. i guess it's a tricky area?
how did you like the shifter feel?
My FL5 has similar gaps lol. Some type r owners just try to justify that their car is better than the Integra by pointing every little thing out. ?

I’m guessing it’s not a replacement. Would I cross-shop the two? No. Could I see the two living side-by-side in a garage? Yes.

2 living side by side is correct.. My logic here is that I can't even take the GT3 out and feel safe parking it places.. Draws too much attention that I don't always want.. My other car is a Tesla, which isn't fun.. So this would be a fun car I don't have to worry about every second.. I have a very loud exhaust system on the GT3 so I know I will want exhaust, tune, intake and I think it would be plenty of fun then.. I hope ;)

I think you’ll like it quite a bit as a practical, but fun, daily to complement your upper echelon Porsche. That seems like quite an ideal setup, if you ask me, as long as expectations are in check.

@JBO is an Australian member who owns a GT4 and has test driven the FL5, you may be able to compare notes with him on his experience. Im sure there are other Porsche owners on the forum, but can't remember off the top of my head.

Here is my take, having owned the GT4 since 2020 and having test driven the FL5 on challenging roads that I know very well.
1. I can't speak to the Integra because it's not available here.
2. The FL5 is the best in its class, by a large margin. It's a better car dynamically than its competitors, and better dynamically than an A45s or RS3. It's also much more engaging to drive.
3. There are no similarities between the FL5 and a GT Porsche product, other than the fact they are both vehicles. The journos love to lather up the keyboard and say "Porsche-like" or..." If Porsche built a hot hatch". Absolute nonsense, they are not comparable.
4. As a two-car garage, and having had a history of hot hatches in my life, the FL5 and GT4 is a nice combo. My FL5 is supposed to arrive in September, when I'll be overseas and eventually heading to Rennsport at the end of the month. So collection will be in the first week of October. I have almost canceled my order many times, as I am sick of the BS from Honda Australia -they've done a horrible job of managing allocations.
5. If the M340i Touring was made available in Australia, I'd cancel the FL5 order immediately.

Why? I liked my M340i, but it was very disengaging and boring compared to my FL5. Faster, yeah, but boring. Totally different type of car.

Ultimately I don't need two performance cars. I'm a surfer so the wagon is a big plus. I'm 53 so the comfort of the M340i is appealing. And I love the interior. But the M340i wagon is not available here. The CTR will give me enough room for the boards with the seats folded down, and a manual gearbox and good dynamics, so that's where my money is currently placed. The ride in comfort mode in the CTR was fine. My current mindset is I will proceed, and pick up my CTR in October. There is nothing on the horizon in terms of product releases in Australia from any brand that is likely to change that. I looked at an Alpina B3 Wagon which is spectacular, but its $200k down here.

Change your mind and keep it.
I test drove the ITS. Everyone has different opinions, my impression, “Shift feel” i realized how smooth CTR compared to ITS. I’m not inpressed with exhaust note, rather keep CTR stock exhaust, but Mugen or Spoon is gonna be my choice. CTR is gonna be a classic car collection after 10 years. I donna much about car other than how to drive manual, no more second thoughts , proud to own a CTR ?.
My humble opinion , please dont bash me for sharing my thoughts. ?.
