I cannot even fathom the thought of 319$ for those POS locking lugs!! šŸ˜„ For another 80$ you could have 20 Advance locking nuts. If McGard didn’t have some deal/contracts with all of the OEMs gobbling up their shit, I swear they would go out of business. If you set out to buy locks after the car purchase, you would NEVER settle/buy their junk, EVAR!!

their same old 1970’s technology is worthless today. I can still remember my Dad buying a set of chrome McGards in 1975 to keep the set of new Western Cyclone aluminum mags on our dune buggy. We really thought they were the shit, and sure enough fifty years later, they are shit.

Yes and it all depends on the location. You can purchase one for MSRP from a random state where 99% of people on the road don't even know what a Type-R is, but somewhere like Cali is a bit tough getting the car at MSRP so most end up paying at least $2000 over which to me isn't a big deal. The dealer wanted $5000 over for mine back in March of 2025, but we settled at $2500 over. The FL5 moves pretty quickly here in Cali when the ADM is under $5000.
Right. I'd have paid $2k ADM in a heartbeat if it meant not having to deal with shipping from out of state.

When I picked my car up in early 2024 though, ADM in California was still pretty nuts (10k+).

i got mine on 12/28/2025 from Riverside So Cal. Paid $2000 over MSRP. Maybe they are more desperate toward the very end of the year? Most other dealers $4000 over and wouldn't even budge. Riverside had only the blue and the red. I bought the blue, but the week after, the red was already gone, so they do sell quite fast in So Cal.
Surprised the blue went before the red.

My dealership flat out refused to remove the wheel locks, though it wasn't $300. Since they were willing to deal on everything else it seemed to be policy, which is what they claimed.

I’m sure they wouldn’t. Probably because the locks are 300$ of pure profit. Just like the astronomical doc fees. And the worthless ā€˜piece of paper’ that makes it certified pre owned. Pure profit.

these items make some prospective shoppers/buyers feel warm and fuzzy (Dealers/sales staff love them), while others see right through this crap!

pS they may have already thrown the OEM hex lugs in the round file too

Surprised the blue went before the red.
Originally i really wanted the red, but when i saw the blue in person, the color looks amazing! Plus, too much red already; red seats, red carpet, red calipers, red emblems, red taillights(you know what i mean).
