2025 Civic Type R - No Additions / Changes for 2025

Something I thought of recently in regards to the new model year. Does anyone think the impending tariffs from the new administration will have any impact on the MSRP for the 2026 Type R? It's the only Civic that's made in Japan.

I have no idea if Japan is even targeted but the uncertainty could be a reason they kill the last year or at the very least inflate the price to make sure they aren't impacted. Maybe they'll reduce the US allocation and give it to Canada?!

A 25% tariff is no joke on a $45K car...

lol, I think they'll affect the regular Civics and CR-V. We (Canadians) build some of the cars in the lineup and ship them there for engines then they get ship back to complete. Hopefully your next administration doesn't go throwing tariffs on everyone. It's going to make matters worse, especially for regular people.

Take this for what it's worth, but just came back from the dealer and my SA mentioned that they were just informed yesterday (1/3) that there will not be a 2026 Type R.

I already own a 2025, so I don't know what his motivation would be to lie, lol. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

This aligns with what I was told as well. I'll believe it when I see it though.

There is no 26 we’ve known this since late 24. Not sure why I see some dreaming of a 26 when Honda has said they can’t produce anymore because of harsh restrictions on emissions in Japan now.

I’ve seen no official word of this in the US. That’s why we are continuing to speculate.

It's been rumoured since August 2022. While I think MY25 is likely the end of the line for Canada, the number of units, has seemingly changed. So it looking more like 600 units, which is a decent bump. So anything is possible.

They could always produce it in a different country like how the type s k20c8 is. Though the chances of that happening is very unlikely but who knows
