Am I the only guy
White
Boost
Red
Black
Sonic

But I’m on multiple lists so I may buy multiple in order to get the right color and cooler number if I can’t at first and sell the other
I'll trade for the sonic gray if you get it ?

This rollout has been typical Honda.

I love the comments where you people think Honda owes you something. They are absolutely consistent. From every indication they are going to do what they said. Impressive in this market.

Annoying to read half this.

My color list is

Sonic
White
Black
Blue
Red

I was gonna go for white as #1, but I got spooked. I've seen a few older type Rs and the championship white almost looks kind of cream or eggshell. Hopefully I didn't make the wrong choice. I'll have to see the white in person.

My plan is to get the last production year of FL5 as well. At that time I plan on getting the black.

I daily a 2020 N that I bought Christmas 2019. It's a blast to drive and I would argue a more fun and engaging drive than the FK8, largely due to being a smaller car with a rowdy exhaust note. My biggest gripe is that the N has a very cheap interior and doesn't feel remotely polished. I'm looking for an FL5 because I want something closer to an S3, more refined and a better daily.

tl;dr N for rowdy hot hatch antics, R if you want something a little classier and well put together.
I think this is the first I've heard of this in a comparison. Coming from an Abarth, I wonder if I'll be disappointed by the FL5's refinement or "lack" of rowdiness.

The FK8 sounds fine for a 4cyl but is pretty quiet. I'm hoping the FL5 is a little louder and has some more character. The exhaust video just posted sounds good but I'm still hearing early impressions that it is pretty quiet. Which isn't a bad thing, I've had 3 years of loud exhaust drone and dependable pops. The N just feels way more like a shell strapped to an engine, good and bad.

my color preferences are cw or red... honestly it's hard to have a firm choice in mind since some days I wake up thinking one way or the other. normally I wouldn't mind the slow tap of information from honda, but my ford has recently become possessed with an impossible to track electrical leak that is popping the power locks and it's beyond annoying. i'm surprised this thing still runs, but thats me being neurotic about getting 100% of life out of a car and saving money driving a paid off beater. luckily washington doesn't ice the roads so I don't mind driving a new car in the winter (not that I have a choice of driving something else heh) but the wait of knowing whether or not I'll get one in the first batch is a killing me. my dealer said they're confident they'll get me an allocation asap, and they better, given I'm paying a markup. at least in other news, Konami apparently has some silent hill news tomorrow - that'll keep my brain occupied

The following is a reply from dealer in Kansas city when I asked about making a reservation for the new R. My Fk8 was purchased from the same dealership.

"Unfortunately we are not taking any reservations for Type R models as we will not be getting any allocation for 3-5 years for one. Sorry."
