Semi bad news, not sure how this translates to the Type R. I have an October allocation for a SI as well, just spoke with my dealer and said this has already been pushed back some. Build date is November so won’t be getting it until December. One month later than expected. Not sure how if this will affect the Type R but figured I’d pass along word
Our incoming Si was also delayed by about two weeks.

Honda is only projecting 400 cars a month for the world so us having 270 is right on the money
where did you hear that? I'm not saying thats not right but making 400 cars a month for the whole world, they wouldn't even recoup the development cost or even federalizing it. Shit Porsche way sells more 911's in a month. I can see maybe maybe 1000 or 2.

Straight pipes talk about stuff that car people don’t really care about. Like I don’t really care if the car has rewinding Sirius XM. Tell me how it handles in the corners!
Well they are sponsored by Sirius but yeah I’ve tuned them out. All there reviews are predictable. Jacob just regurgitates what others are saying and if it has more power it’s better.

Of the two Canadian reviewers Throttle House is the best and it ain’t even close. They have driving skills, are knowledgeable and have a great group of people behind them bringing great grassroots production. There is a reason guys like Chris Harris support them and respect them.

This will not affect the FL5, remember the cars have already been built and they are already collecting dust in Richmond
What this guy said.
Not to mention the Si is built in NA, the FL5 is built in Japan. Likely to be two very different parts of the supply chain.

They will not be spread evenly. The dealerships that sold the most FK8s and have the highest turnover rates for the civic will receive the FL5. Some dealerships will not get any.

There was a press release about the production limitations of the Yorii factory where the FL5 is made. Luckily the development costs of the FL5 are paid for by the thousands of crossovers that get shipped every month.

There would be no GT3, GT3-RS, GT4, GT2-RS, etc. if it wasn't for the Cayenne and Macan.

The 400 is at least questionable given several sources indicating production may be running higher than initially expected.

yeh but GT cars have a obscene amount of profit margin. For a while 911 had the highest profit margin in the industry. I get SUV's are keeping porsche alive but they are a racing company first. Noones buying a CRV because they saw a Type R.

Regardless of the current profit margin, the GT cars wouldn’t exist if not for the crossovers. They’re only profitable now because of the Cayenne and Macan. All I’m saying is Honda knows what they’re doing.

The Type R is not a stand alone model, development costs are covered by the cars that share its platform which include but aren’t limited to the: Civic, HRV, Integra(USDM & Chinese), CRV, ZRV, etc.
