Hmm given how many have been spotted recently, would it be safe to say these are infact production ready dealership allocations in Japan? I would think so ... right?
With the amount floating around on these various trucks, I’d have to agree that these are production models.

Lurker here. Welp, I wish everyone luck here because it's looking grim with me trying to get one in Puerto Rico. I am also on a list at Honda de San Juan but all Honda Dealers in PR are owned by the same group. So the allocation process is going to be interesting for any fellow islanders.

If anything, I'll be waiting quite a bit for some to get on the island. And ADM of at least 10k is expected when living here. I just wonder if anyone has info on how the process may differ in another territory compared to the homeland since it still falls under the "US dealers list"

Thanks. Seems my fit of pseudo-misinformation (however unintended) did the trick on bringing you out haha

What do you mean? Are you a dealer in the US that can't get BB? I ask because 1. it seems like half the people commenting in here work for dealers (has me eyeing my salesmen with suspicion ha) and 2. I thought I saw someone note that certain US dealers won't be able to get certain colors. That seems quite odd. Really hoping I won't have to go abroad to find one because I'm narrowing in on boost blue as the only color I want.
Nope. And I have not seen that. I’m speaking for the perspective we probably won’t get to choose colors.

Listen, if you have the money and want the car bad, why not?
It's funny because houses over the last 2 - 3 years were selling for 200k-400k over asking.

I get it cars and houses aren't the same or even close.

But as a potential investment that most likely (imo) appreciate over time if you can afford and want it bad enough, 10k over...isn't really that bad...is it? Or am I just really jaded in my view of money lol. You can probably tell I would do $10k over if given the chance.

Thanks for sharing your perspective; didn't even think about it from a "Territories" point of view. Do you see any exotics there? Thinking higher-end Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc.

i mean at $10k over you're like $55kish out the door probably....which in my opinion is still a deal considering most 18-19 fk8's are selling for this and type r's don't lose value like other vehicles do. but like said, if you're comfortable, have the money and want the car badly...$10k isn't the end of the world when you're financing it and definitely not an issue if you're buying it cash anyways.

Right....I wonder if the MSRP or bust crowd has done any house hunting recently lol.

But anyways, here's hoping those of us willing to pay even get the chance. Lord knows even with deeperish pockets you might not get one, atleast in my country.

Yes! It's funny because where I reserved mine is right next to a Porsche dealer. A Lamborghini one is not too far. The roads here are not as forgiving as the worst roads in Jersey (where I'm from). So most enthusiasts here are into Tacomas and Corolla hatches. They're big on Toyota here so the GR Corolla is another one I'm probably not looking good on lol

A lot of people hold onto their older cars. Of course those older cars are considered Japanese legends. I've seen more of them here than in South Florida, at least.

I've seen plenty of FK8s here and I think one or two LEs are on the island but if the rumors are true there will definitely be less FL5s. I honestly just want one to drive, enjoy, and pass down the generations.

I'm willing to go ~$2-3k over, but not more.
Have a refundable $1k deposit for a '23 Golf R DSG at msrp as backup.

Not waiting for the 20th anniversary? That is my back backup, main back up is GRC.

I'd love the Anniversary Mk8, but the markups on it will be higher than the FL5's ^^
Have plans to swap the mirror caps to black, tint windows, and put on some Enkei PX-10s or the like for a sleek, OEM+ look
