I keep my cars about 5 years at most. We'll see if I get bored with the FL5 if I could even find one. I definitely know that a 997 GT3 is my car goal and once I achieve that its my forever car.
I will probably drive my FL5 (assuming I get one) no more than 3,000 miles a year, maybe less. It will be a toy and will be competing for drives with my S2000, so I anticipate many years of enjoyment!

And good choice on the 997 GT3. I think of that gen GT3 as the Goldilocks car -- just right.

Luckily I'm fully remote for my job. During covid i drove my RS5 2,000km annually lol. Plan on doing the same with the FL5 if I get it.

Weekend fun car.

Supply & Demand - sometimes it swings in your favor, other times not.
Like some others, I was lucky to get my '17 FK8 @ msrp ($34,775) and you can imagine my shock looking at its current value. ?
same...i paid $36,870 otd for my aegean blue in late 17 right off the showroom floor. those were the days.
Ditto. I got my '19 FK8 for $33,500 with 6,400 miles three weeks before the 'VID was officially declared, so I'm a little biased towards him, but definitely looking forward to seeing an FL5 in person, and excited for everyone here that has their name on a list for one.

It's funny because houses over the last 2 - 3 years were selling for 200k-400k over asking.

I get it cars and houses aren't the same or even close.

But as a potential investment that most likely (imo) appreciate over time if you can afford and want it bad enough, 10k over...isn't really that bad...is it? Or am I just really jaded in my view of money lol. You can probably tell I would do $10k over if given the chance.
Are you the guy that’s been buying the Golf R’s here for 69k??

Nope, I don't think the car is worth that asking.

But if I had enough money, I wouldn't care about the price and get it at whatever price.

Yeah, I dont know how many Rs have been built so far (we know they are in production) and good thing is they are low volume overall. My gut says it may not delay the order or allocation date but that initial deliveries may trickle in over a longer time, like through early next year.
That’s a good point. Let’s hope the cuts are more for other cars and the Type R production can tick along without too much delay.

This does not bode well as the Type R is built in the Yorii (Saitama) plant…

Very Interesting because just yesterday the executive vice president of Business and Sales for American Honda is literally on record saying "We're hopeful that the worst is behind us" which paints a completely different narrative lol. Maybe he didn't get the memo ?

Yeah I don't think he got the memo lol. Article also doesn't elaborate on that quote, so it really just sounds like a "hope" more than anything.
