Hi, I have a bone stock USDM 2025 Type R.
I am NOT going to lower the suspension NOR swap to Acura electronic damper.
I am trying to make my Type R comfortable and (almost) practical for 200+ mile Cross-Texas highway drives.

Anyone know how a
Rays / Volk ZE40 18 x 8.5 +45 offset on 265/45 R 18 tire would fit?

Also, I know this is crazy, but what about a...
Rays / Volk ZE40 18 x 8.5 +30(!!!) offset on 265/45 R 18 ???

Is 45 Sidewall too tall? Is +30 Offset too wide?

I want to make sure there are no rubbing issues with OEM Type R suspension and damper in Comfort mode.

265/45R18 is too tall.

265/40 is doable and will give you some nice sidewall for long hauls. I would still recommend stacking the ITS ADM on top of it, as it makes a notable difference.

265/45R18 is too tall.

265/40 is doable and will give you some nice sidewall for long hauls. I would still recommend stacking the ITS ADM on top of it, as it makes a notable difference.

I still suggest 255/40 or 265/40 DWS06+'s and sticking with an offset between -45 and -35, along with the ITS ADM. You'll be very happy with the ride quality and performance/response of the car across the board.

There is a wheel (Enkei PF06) I like that comes in 18x9+42, which is the next fit down from 19x9.5+45. I'm torn between running 265/35 or going narrower to 255/35 or 255/40 so that the sidewall is better supported. I don't want to lose much steering sharpness, but I also don't know what I'm giving up with narrower tread. My use case is street driving only, lots of rain, generally poor road surfaces (sometimes loose/gravel).

Do you have any input?

Given what you've said, I stand by my 255/40 recommendation. After you go this route, come on back and tell me how little you actually lost in regards to steering sharpness, and how happy you are with them across the board.

This is just my 2 cents:
I think the 265/40 would be the proper choice for a 8.5" wide wheel, just as a 275/35 would be the proper choice for the stock 9.5" wide wheel.
For daily driving on poor road surfaces, a wider tire is more likely to provide just that little bit of extra rub protection from things like rough bumps and potholes.

I'm no Super Driver, and I'm going from a Jeep Wrangler on chonky knobbies over to a Type R, so I'm probably gonna be the last person here to notice the difference in steering response.

My point of view is that I am in favor of a wide tire specifically for protecting the lip and the face of the wheel itself.
