This I know. I'm in a similar situation as you were in. I've got a house just outside of Boston and I'm going to relocate to TN,NC or KY however my car is in NC and I really can't stock up parts till I decided what I'm going to do with my house. So changing wheels isn't a option right now. So I have to navigate the situation.
FL5 can carry a set of wheels 😂 Just do yourself a favor before you go down the BBK route - 1 bottle of Castrol SRF and a set of EBC SR11.
I get it and everyone has a different risk tolerance. You were at VIR with gears and gasoline so you know that things can happen on or off track. Why you don't think the car can be tested on touge doesn't really make sense to me and that's cool. I realize that this thread has turned into what someone else's opinion on how to use a car rather than giving options on the actual OP.
Lol giving opinions on actual OP? Dude you got opinions and you disagreed with every. Single. One. The opinion is 200tw tires. OEM system with new pads and good fluid. Send it.

I would actually recommend Ferodo DS3.12 over the EBC. The temp range and mu IIRC is much higher and gives consistent pedal feel from cold to hot. I personally like DS1.11 over 3.12 because when they get hotter, you have to have more pedal travel for the same bite (some people dont like that though). And for fluid Motul RBF700 or SRF for sure.

Gridzilla will run whatever he gets for free :)

The APs are better, the paragon design is the old AP design, I remember reading the patent expired so they copied it.

You want the best then AP it is this thread should be over then.

Also I know it seems everyone here is ganging up on you but seriously everyone is just sharing their opinion which come from experience to try to help ya make the best possible decision.

We are trying to help you. You are ignoring everything you dont want to hear, and have rose colored glasses on for people who you "respect" and have the parts you are seeking validation with.

Gridzilla isnt running on PS4S and AP brakes, bro.
Truthfully I won't be running on ps4s forever. That seems to have escaped the chat lol

@ctechauto

I will give you my email address and I'd like a invoice that includes
Rotors
Pads
Shims
Ss lines
18x10 wheels
200tw tires
If you can give me a better price then I can get Paragon and AP for I will purchase everything today from you.

You all are some good people. Why do you care what this guy wants to do to his car? He clearly doesn't value your opinion or this thread would've been wrapped up pages ago. Incremental upgrades or "test and tune" is a common sense approach to modifying a car I learned at 17. There is nothing novel about this idea.

Some people like to engage and bicker with randos on the Interweb as a past time. They also like to start a new thread every other week seeking opinions they don't really want. Don't take the bait folks and use your time on more meaningful pursuits.

There is no room for logic and reasoning in this thread. Go elsewhere Superman! ;-)

I'm sorry, what? Are you comparing dollar per dollar for the whole list including wheels and tires vs a BBK? Get real.

You also tried to insult me by trying to invalidate my experience because my three Type Rs (FL5, FK8, EK9) arent modded/built enough for you. I dont track any of them. I have a dedicated track car and thats a Porsche Cayman.

I dont want to do business with you, sorry. I am still posting for the better of the community and forum, not for you.

I don't believe anyone is ganging up on me. This is the internet and people have different opinions and experiences. However I'm not going to overlook my own experience.

to be fair and I also use SR11 cuz also cheap. I did run ferodo 1.11 before and the SR11s are not as good but imo about 90% there and a bang for the buck. The 1.11s modulate better and do have higher temp range but the SR11 temp range is still really really good and more than enough for HPDE.

If I had the moneys I would get the 1.11s everyday of the week but for $250 I personally don't think there is anything better than the SR11, specially if you fancy a HUGE initial bite just like the 1.11 and I assume the 3.12s have

Rotors = $850
Pads = $500
Shim = don't need them but add $100 if you really must have them
SS lines = $160
Wheels is HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE but I got Enkie T6R + Kumho V730 for just under $2k.

That's $3600 give or take but you're also talking about all consumables. Even if you get a BBK, you'll need to replace pads, tires, and pads. Consumables are cost for all of us.

You still haven't answered the question: Has the brake system warning light come on for you during one of your tonguing experiences?

So you didn't read the OP you just decide to diagnose the situation with your 100% opinion. Neglecting or no comprehension applied.
I guess you could say judgement was passed at that point.
That post was just to reinforce my assumption.

Yet again, you're trying to invalidate my experience. And others have chimed in on their own with their same experience and opinion. I didnt answer your question directly because the premise and basis was incorrect, and still is. I asked clarifying questions to help sus out the root cause. You already went in thinking you needed a BBK, when its apparent by my experience and others its not that.

The problem isnt me or any others, its you. You came in with a huge ego, thinking you can solve a problem by throwing a BBK at it, when you've had zero practical experience on the matter. You've also never had done any track days, but dont take any advice for people who have done this for years.

You're what people call an "askhole" and the dunning-kruger is very apparent here.

@ctechauto did some basic "discovery" after reading your OP to make sure he had the full context to properly answer you questions. This is (good) sales 101. And if you don't want 100% opinions, then WTF do you want?

This whole time, I thought running a shop and providing recommendations and gudianced based on experience actually mattered to some people. I may have been mistaken. 😂
