I had a wicked off at the Kink in my Supra...got a much better exit the the turn before...the Garmin went bright green, I got excited, and apexed at like 135mph, which was about 5mph too much :) and went off the outside curbing and bounced around a bit. Fun times

That kink is terrifying!

Congrats, that's a good lap! SP is my home track.

What tires and setup do you have, and what are the mods to your car?
Thanks! Summit is also my home track. The car has 2 year old 265/35R18 Falken RT660 tires and Counter Space Garage pads front and rear. Also running Castrol SRF brake fluid. I pulled the strut pins to get a little more camber up front and did an alignment. Other than that it's all stock.

100% this car benefits a lot from deep trail braking.
Are you running +R with Long Hold or Pedal Dance? The dynamics change quite a bit.

In +R with Long Hold...I don't trail at all, it overloads the front tires, and over-slows the car on every entry. Deleting the trail and letting AHA do its thing has netted far better results.

In +R with Long Hold...I don't trail at all, it overloads the front tires, and over-slows the car on every entry. Deleting the trail and letting AHA do its thing has netted far better results.
I tried +R exclusively last weekend based off of what I've read on here. It seemed good but admittedly I never went back to back with the pedal dance. I just felt like I was waiting forever to get back on the power. Could also just be heat cycled tires at this point.

I will say that the car is incredibly capable in +R even with a short press of the TC button. I took a coworker for a ride and did it that way and was within 1.5 seconds of my best time. I liked the safety net of stability control while having a passenger. Couldn't have two of us not make it back to work on Monday lol.

I have noticed the overslowing, which is why I don't like it. Never really thought to not trail, since it's built in my brain

How do you compare those tires with PS 4S?

What’s the factory alignment vs your alignment? Is there a substantial lap time difference? Does factory alignment result in bad tire wear?

Do you find any overheating issues?

200TW tires are not PS4S. PS4S are good for street and maybe to get started on track but they will lose their value very quickly, when you can use better options for track that will last much longer

Interesting. I do notice the car overload the front end sometimes, but it feels like it has too much grip on the rear. Maybe running bigger tires on the front could help launch the rear a bit more.

On street tires though, the car behaves more natural

I only tracked the PS4S the first event in near freezing temps. They felt great but I was still new to the car. I think if I tried them now I'd be able to tell they aren't as good as a proper track tire. Also, I have read recently on this forum that they tend to chunk away on the edges with hard track use. Sounds like with your experience level they wouldn't be the best choice.

As for alignment- I did that before the first event with the car so unsure about any lap time deltas. I think I zero'd out the rear toe and have about 1/8" total toe out in the front. Camber isn't really adjustable except for moving the strut pins which got it .2-.3 degrees more negative than factory. I am around 8500 miles total now and haven't noticed any poor tire wear.

The car gets hot. How hot is too hot is up to the individual. At least until the car throws overheating codes. I haven't had any issues. Coolant has been up to like 225 and oil gets up to 270ish. I don't remember the exact numbers. I'm fine with those numbers. The fluids are getting too hot at about the same time as the tires and brakes though so 1 good cool down lap helps everything and you can go again.

I've only done one track day with the PS4S, in a different car. The grip was pretty good, but the car was AWD.

I'm curious about how the bespoke PS4S on the FL5 CTR compares with other tires for this car. I wouldn't be tracking the CTR much (have other track cars), but I do want to try it on track.
