Hi Y'all,
Introducing “Gambit’s FL5 Low Pressure Fuel Hose Kit”. Source it, DIY / build it yourself.

The benefit of this DIY kit for the community is that all parts are available on ebay or universally available online. You can mix and match whatever parts you have spare to replace the OE non compliant E85 low pressure fuel hose that runs from the firewall hardline to the high pressure fuel pump. Pictured here:

This kit replaces the low pressure line with a AN6 PTFE coated braided line that is E85 compliant and perfectly suited to the Hondata Canflex unit that mounts to the firewall. The connections are quick AN6 connects in order to plug and play (so to speak). I have added a Aeroflow 40 micron fuel filter in the line as well.

The prototype lines pictured are to test for Right Hand Drive and Left Hand Drive to clear and route cleanly away from the inlet manifold to the High Pressure Fuel Pump. The benefit of this approach is two fold: 1. an E85 compatible line and 2. easily accessible fuel filter from the firewall for regular servicing.

I'll be prototyping another fuel filter version with a MAHLE 20micron filter which is OE on a 930 911 turbo Porsche. In fact you could interchange any fuel filter you'd like into the lineout kit.

Once i conduct further testing after going E85 Canflex for myself i'll release further details.

Good idea. While I'm not sure that there is any evidence that this particular fuel line needs to be upgraded, I do think integrating a filter would be a great value add and meets a need for the FL5 platform that is currently not met.
Anyone running flexfuel should have some concerns with the OEM lines. I'm excited to see other options other than JSR FK8 offerings.

I’m actually interested in this as I recently purchased Hondata’s CanFlex for my FL5. I’m all for protecting my HPFP and Injectors from further contamination.

I know when it comes to the LPFP paper filter, you have to change it out. Especially more frequently when using ethanol. I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I’d rather not deal with the rear seats to access the fuel sender unit, just to replace the filter every 6 months to a year since it’s a pita.

have you switched to E85/CanFlex, and if so, any updates to your testing?

Thanks for the supportive responses. I should have some updated feedback in the next few weeks from @Integra23 with the ID-F1250.

I am currently testing a variation of the LPFH line out kit without a filter between the Canflex and HPFP. In combination with a yet to be released variation to the inline filter setup. When I get more time i'll post up another thread to share the kit and data.

Sharing ID F1250 filter vs a stock filter sock as a comparison. Prototype R&D still ongoing and awaiting data and feedback but so far so good.

Appreciate the update! Almost forgot about this thread. I just recently started using CANflex as well, looking forward for your results.

Tests are very positive. The TrustAlign FL5 @tezzasaurusrex has had Race proven podium success at world time attack with the kit without filter.

Further teaser update pic of the filtered setup. Still fine tuning the mount in relation to the FullRace HPFP. The line only kit has been working well with the FullRace pump thus far. Waiting for feedback from the early prototype kits sent out for testing.

Yet to get any feedback from units sent out earlier. I have run both the line only and the filtered setup with no issues personally. tezzasaurusrex has run the no filter line in World Time Attack and daily use. So far so good.
