Wait, just to make sure I'm reading correctly, when your car was bone stock you never experienced overheating while tracking?
No, but it also wasn't 90-95 degrees outside. Would probably get pretty hot if you were to go to the track mid summer. The white car did overheat, but the black car did not. The white car has a PRL intercooler at the time.

Yeah once it gets hot outside it will overheat either way. People need to take into account ambient temps. 10 degrees outside make a huge difference in the way the car cools.

There is no oil temp sensor in FL5. The oil temp is a guess based on water temp. If you really care about oil temp, you should install oil temp gauge first.

The problems of radiators including stock and others are that entrance and exit are on the vertical straight line. It should be diagonal line of radiator for better cooling. That means hoses have to be custom made.

Do you understand me? Sorry for my poor English.
Willow springs evokes nostalgia for me.
I used to drive my turbocharged Civic Si there 30 years ago.

i get your point.
Im going to relocate the HEL oil cooler to the side so get more radiator air flow. I will assume that might not work enough so the next plan is to customize a 2nd oil cooler like these guys.

Did you see my post about the dual oil cooler solution I'm working on (inspired by my fk8 build and the Honda R&D team)?
Ive message drivencrazy and they said they discontinued it.
When are you going to be selling yours?

Here's my progress thus far. Still waiting on a few pieces in the mail, but I should have it all in working order in a couple weeks. Need the oil cooler covers which ship out late next week and also the custom lines, then I can test. My first track event might not be until late September so it'll just be street testing until then ?.

I went ahead and just went for it yesterday after talking with Joel from driven crazy, and he said he might not pursue the oil cooler kit. This is the idea I've been working on conceptually for several weeks and I thought well hell, let's put it into action. Luckily I have a summit racing in town so I was able to pick up everything and get to work.

The set up is a simple concept really, and my goal was to maintain an OEM look without having to cut the painted bumper. Even simple concepts can be tricky though, and this one took some figuring out with a lot of measuring and such. I'm really happy with how it turned out so far. You can barely see the inlets and if you didn't know you would think the car came that way.

Additionally, I'm also going to be test fitting the fk8 secondary radiator kit I helped develop with driven crazy to see if I can get it to fit/bolt up on the crash bar nicely ?.

I'm hopeful that with oil and coolant both being addressed in a similar fashion to what I had on my fk8, that I might have similar if not better results. I'll definitely keep you guys posted with all of it.

Here's a Google sheet with the parts used and links.

Looks great. Yah , i saw this post and im going to copy your way. I will probably just move the HEL oil cooler to the left and see from there. Worst comes to worst, ill get another oil cooler for the right side.

Also, there is an fk8 2nd radiator and i message twostepperformance and they said it doesnt fit in FL5.

I might have a track days on mid july so i will test it there but ill run it in the canyons before that and see the temp.

Is it the mishimoto secondary radiator?
