Great advice. I believe they have 2 on the lot right now and getting 5 more according to your list. Prob will stop by in person when the new allocations come in. The issue is I'm a bit torn between the CTR and ITS ?
Ask yourself "what am I looking for out of the car?" The ITS will not hold its value as well as the CTR(Type R has way more brand cache than Type S), ITS has more technology, CTR Is more track-focused. ITS will be more expensive but alot easier to get at MSRP. the looks are subjective, for me, I prefer whichever one I'm looking at in the moment.

I do feel like Acura could've at least given it a different seat and did some more to differentiate the interior from the A-Spec Integra though. Remove the Type S badging and the interior is exactly the same as the A-Spec model.

Very true. I want the CTR seats, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The only things I care about are the engine, transmission, and brakes, which both cars share. I think it'll come down to the better deal in the end!

I look at a 5k ADM and say that it's justifiable, anything over 5k is a matter of convenience and preference. Color, dealer location, early access to the car versus waiting....all factors

What I find silly is when people are like "for X money you could get Y car". Well if people wanted Y car then they'd be in the market for it, but oftentimes they are judging that based solely on what the MSRP is for that Y car, assuming it doesn't have a markup either. People are also forgetting how much more their trade ins are worth than what they paid......Can't have it both ways......

A 20k or so markup puts buyers in the ballpark of a LOWER-end BMW, Porsche, or Audi, or whatever -- which still (in spite of being the lower-end versions) have a bunch more power and more prestige as a high-end performance car than the CTR.... and re your point about markup...then, given it would be a LOWER-end version of a lux performance car, it's not likely there would be much demand/markup for those cars.

We already know that some ppl on the Acura forum have been finding dealers to take orders on the new 2024 ITS at MSRP. It's only after the media hype when things start to go crazy, and, there's no media hype around the Lower-end luxury performance cars that have been easily available for months now.

So, if someone can afford/justify that high a markup, then it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't be going for the next class up. It's gotta be the media hype appealing to people who already have plenty of money... and if so, they'll tire of the car once the media has a new darling.

I gotta disagree with this. Just because it's considered "next class up", doesn't necessarily make it more appealing for everyone. I was cross shopping the CTR with several cars in the "next tier up" - like the RS3, CT5-V Blackwing, and M3. Yes, all of those cars are more luxurious and more powerful. But the CTR has serious advantages compared to those cars as well - it's lighter, better driver feel, 6MT, more cargo space, more reliable, cheaper to maintain, etc. All of those things are very meaningful differences to many people.

Truth be told, I wouldn't trade my CTR for any of those cars, even as a straight up swap, despite the fact that they are in the "next class up".

That's actually great to hear... but for many people, the badge and the image are the most important part. If you are driving a Honda, you have a different image than if you are driving a Porsche or Caddy... that's just the way it is. OTOH, typically those who are able to afford to own multiple cars in that class are likely to be willing to pay the ADM if they want the car badly enough (esp the collectors).

Just curious...
While i have owned mustangs, Zs, and a Camaro, i haven't had a modern one, and i have never even driven a luxury performance car. Are you really saying the ride is that much better in the CTR? It would be great to know that i don't have to feel bad about missing out on something really special... if the CTR is truly on a par (albeit uniquely so).

...altho, a huge reason i didn't look at most other cars was exactly what you said... that i needed the cargo and passenger space. That was a requirement for me because i needed a daily drive.

EDIT: In fact, this is what I used to vtec said in his post -- which is a very common reality -- the status symbol drives the market...
" Several of my car enthusiast coworkers were ribbing me for wanting to buy a Honda (our parking lot is almost exclusively Teslas and 911s). Their jaws hit the floor when I told them this car was going for as high as 80 grand."

Yeah agreed on the badge/status symbol thing - definitely a top priority for many people.

I've barely driven my CTR so far (really only drove it to the PPF shop, where it's still sitting right now), so I can't comment on the ride for awhile. But I did own an S2000 for almost 10 years and that was definitely a raw driver's car. And I will say that there is just something really special about driving a machine like that, and you lose a lot of that feel when going to the luxury cars, which tend to feel more sterile.

But obviously it differs for everyone, so best thing to do is just go to dealerships and test drive some yourself :) Then you can validate that the CTR was the right decision ;)

MO shows almost 400 cars added since 9am today. This is the most I’ve seen in a while. Hope this helps ease markup and everyone can get one cheaper. Good luck out there.
