Glad to hearI have those on my forester and they're good tires, but I specifically want winter and summer tires, not all seasons. I think I am go to try and cop some 235 Pilot Alpin 4 or 5's. Still undecided on wheels.

Ive used lightweight OZ wheels for winter setups before, never bent one in over 10 years. That’s probably what I’ll do for the Type R if I get one. 18x8s, narrow tire as possible. How important is it to have a heavier alloyed wheel?
They make a new model now. The DWS O6 plus. They fit the OEM rim. That’s what I have on mine at the moment even though I can’t drive my new car. Slipped and fell on the ice and broke my left knee cap in half. They were fine for light to moderate snow in the Midwest. They cost me $1200 installed and will use the oem tires for the summer. Thanks for starting this, I’m definitely interested in getting some tire feedback for cold wet Pacific Northwest winters. Don’t plan on doing a ton of snow driving but I’d like tires that can handle a bit, but that are particularly good in 30s/40s and wet conditions.
I got the forged wheels with my FL5 so will probably just have one winter and one summer set. So they’ll be 19s and expensive but I want to make sure I get quality without having to spend $1500+
Any recommendations?
I’ve been told about the Continental DWS but not much else beyond those.
Thanks, hope you have a quick recovery. Damn the midwest winters, it is why I left! They make a new model now. The DWS O6 plus. They fit the OEM rim. I know that 35 series is fine and will fit. 40 series is quite a jump and almost 2" bigger in diameter than stock. I have not heard of anyone fitting 265/40/19 on their FL5 yet. I'd personally stick with the 35 series which is confirmed to fit with minimal speedometer error. Are 265/40/19 going to change the driving feel a lot with more sidewall? Should I wait and get the 265/35/19 when available again?

Good call on Costco. I didn't even think to look there. Will probably go the same route for my winter set.Costco got the Michelin's back in stock. Everything I saw comparing them to the DWS 06 Plus had the Contis with better wet and snow performance but the Michelin with better dry.
$100 off until 10/22 with plenty of nice perks.Good call on Costco. I didn't even think to look there. Will probably go the same route for my winter set.
