Towards the tail-end of FK8 ownership, I found the perfect RMM for me - Wunderladen with the Street Bushings. It offered what I had been seeking for a long time, which was performance of the 27WON Street RMM, with the low NVH matching the PRL RMM. I had both those mounts before, I tried Whiteline and Hasport as well, and also the Perrin Inserts so I’m pretty familiar with all the main brand offerings.

For this reason I was pretty set on using the Wunderladen Street for the FL5, just didn’t get to install it till now. I will say that the stock RMM is quite soft, and one can feel the drivetrain lurch during shifts, or when you’re ON/off throttle.

Shoutout to @Thusee for the RMM install, and the first oil change after 1,000 miles!

You do feel the extra rumble in the seat when you first fire up the car post-install, and minor amount when you’re setting off in first. Past that there’s no dash rattle or constant boom from the engine.

The shift feel is immediately improved as that lurch motion ON/OFF throttle has been removed from the driving experience. I’ve done some spirited pulls and shifting the last couple of days, there’s definitely more confidence in me to grab the next gear quickly at high RPM's.

On good weather days I’ll get the car out for more mileage so I can continue to break-in the RMM, but for now I’m more than satisfied.

Having come from the PRL to now driving with the Wunderladen for some time now, this assessment is spot on
I do think that PRL could revisit their RMM. It started off great, but I also felt that after 6 months of use the bushings got soft on the FK8.

Not sure if it's a chassis thing, because we still have a PRL RMM installed on our FL1 and that's performing alright.

Any idea how many miles it takes to break in? I still get more resonance at low rpm than i hoped for and have about 250 miles on mine.

I generally say 4-500. On my FK8 I had Spoon Rigid Collars, and noticed the NVH even less so.

Sometime over the winter we'll install the PRL SRS Collar Kit, and I'm really inclined to give the chassis mounted performance dampers a go as well.

Look forward to your feedback on the rigid collars and performance dampers as I might consider those in the future as well. Thanks

I have both installed and can’t recommend both of them used together enough.

Good to hear positive feedback on these. Can you describe the changes you felt with each of them? And how that might’ve impacted what you felt after installing a RMM. I have the wunderladen street RMM at the moment

Did you install both together?

I had the Spoon Collars on the FK8, and the chassis felt better bolted up together. There was less secondary movement after hitting road imperfections. They've since been proven, people buy either the Spoon or PRL version all the time.

Since the performance damper hasn't yet gained traction like the collars I will need to wait till Spring or Summer for a group test. Going to purchase a set between now and then, invite some local FL5/DE5 friends over prior to install so a number of people can drive the car and experience the difference pre and post installation. It's great that I test out parts myself and have a solid reputation but without the community's backing things can't take off.

SDI's suspension controller for example has started to pick up pace since @dmd2005 on IntegraForums posted his review. This past month we've sold 4 more units, and it should become a pretty well-known upgrade once there's more and more chatter. I love mine, I can't go back to a regular ADS after this. I'm hoping the performance damper is similar :)

I still haven't decided on a front lip, but at least the 🍑 end has been taken care of!

APR Diffuser, 2.9lbs of Dry Carbon goodness! The factory diffuser is good but I wanted something more aggressive but nothing overly done - lot of options have extra number of fins, or spats that extend out to the side, which is just not me.

For the amount of money I spent on it I had big expectations, and I'm thankful that the final look delivered! If I don't mention that it has the diffuser swapped, I think any FL5 owner will do a double-take before they realize it's different. Rear toe hook isn't crucial for me, so losing access to it isn't a deal breaker.

Did you install both together?
Yes

I had a bunch of things installed by @ctechauto all at the same time:
Spoon Springs
Spoon Front Stiff Plate
Spoon Rigid Collars
Mugen Performance Dampers
Wunderladen street RMM

the chassis overall feels much tighter. Any slop is gone in the steering and feel of the car. The stiff plate really keeps the front end rigid and flat in corners but not in the way a sway bar would.
The Mugen dampers tone down body vibrations and harshness that come through the chassis or steering wheel over road surfaces. The car doesn’t make “banging” noises now when hitting uneven spots or moderate potholes in the road. Think of it as a lateral damper for the chassis as opposed to a vertical damper for the suspension. I really makes for a pleasant and well planted, confidence inspiring ride.
That being said, I am looking forward to your DSC feedback because I am absolutely sold on the SDI e-click. I’ve been wanting that for a long time and feel it would work in a perfect partnership with these parts

Excellent parts list! Both you and I seem to be on the same path with similar parts, getting that little extra out of the already great chassis!

I’m hoping to gather more parts over the winter - COBB RMM just arrived, that’s what I’m trying after Wunderladen.

Sadly winter’s come early and quite hard up here in Toronto so I haven’t taken the car out in 2 weeks. Salt or snow isn’t my issue, it’s other drivers with bald all seasons and no common sense on braking distance, lane changes etc.

Hoping to find some clear days otherwise it’ll be a couple of months of parts collection..

FL5 CTR
Hey guys. New to the forum and recently got back into a CTR. Owned a completely stock fk8 previously but got inspired to do some light chassis mods on the fl5 after reading up on this forum. Got the Wunderladen street RMM based on input from you guys and added the Mugen dampers and PRL rigid collars (really like how getRights build turned out). I feel like I’ve gotten all the benefits of the RMM with little to no change in NVH. Shifting 1st to 2nd feels even smoother. Interior vibrations at lower revs actually improved which I think is attributable to the performance dampers. Anyways, using the FL5 as a DD and couldn’t be happier after driving a g80 xdrive last couple years.

Super cool to see that you went away for a bit, but then came right back because it's' hard to match the feel of these cars for the price point, let alone the practicality and reliability we get.

Now that you've had some more seat time, how's everything feeling?

Man I really want those Mugen dampers myself, but I'm holding myself back. Already made a pretty substantial purchase for the car that would 110% not be spouse-approved ahah
