Glad someone else was hoping for this feature!
Yeah, honestly... anything that requires extra actions to swap maps to the desired one after the car is started or requires me to leave the V2 hooked up 24/7 makes it a no-sell for me at this point. It's primarily my wife's DD and the idea of it starting with a weaker map than the modded 23# basemap I have and having to explain to her that she has to do something (no matter how simple) to activate the hotter map would mean it'd never be used... and she'd be disappointed with it starting on the valet map. As it is, she rarely enables sport mode, so she doesn't even use the higher boost table that often, but all the enables/adjustments and the ignition advance that's put into the map she still gets to enjoy. I've thought of making a 23/23 vice a 19/23 just for that reason.

While I applauded the on-the-fly map switching when I saw Ktuner announce it as a new feature, I knew that it was a feature I would never intentionally use. Heck... if the hot map was in spot 1 or whatever to be the default map on startup w/o my V2 hooked up it'd work for me I guess. The only real benefit I could see is if there's a fuel shortage and 91/93 is unavailable and you have to fill with 87/89 while you're out.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am following this thread closely, as I am eager to purchase this tune for my KTuner V1.2 and sell my KTuner V2 w/ Vit Stage 1. Unfortunately, the feedback on the higher KControl values has me a little spooked at the moment. I did some testing on the Vit Stage 1 25 psi map, and even on a WOT pull, my KControl never hit .60. Maybe the TSP Stage 1 map is more aggressive and that's why? Not sure - I just want to make sure that everything is safe before purchasing.
I don't think there is any concern. As Rob mentioned the variations in vehicles, possibility of ultra sensitive knock sensors & gas are a big contributor.

The other poster who had higher KC seems to have cleared their issue up with better gas but did not list info/KControl values.

My issue may be gas & this lifter assembly on my cylinder head making noise, I fiddled with the solenoid/sensor fitting and the noise is now gone.
This could have contributed to false knock/noise?

I'm running the Tune and think it's phenomenal! Every time I fire it up my values are looking better and better.
I'm not worried and I had very similiar KControl values before as well.

Great, I have
Patiently waiting for them to email me the Hondata version of the map. Since the Hondata doesn't do on the fly map switching, I hope/assume the map uses the 3rd mapping from the ktuner version. I'll be comparing it to the +9 sport mode with scramble map from Hondata.
Nice, I have it on my flashpro, just waiting to fill up with a good fuel and go cobra conversion. It is just the full tune as far as I understand

@davemarco what fuel quality do you have?

Another note: the difference in 0.49 to 0.79 Knock Control value is 3deg of ignition retard typically. Honda knock control isn't quick and dynamic to return to a lower value, but is quick to pull a little bit of timing for safety. Again, some movement isn't anything to worry about.

@CrippleRipple , your latest reports are right on the money for 91oct. Again, I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I do agree. It's a pain if you don't want to leave the KTuner in the vehicle. Mine did not like 106F+ heat!

I figured for the price it's not bad at all just to try and I could always go back to my custom 19.5/23 map.
But you ain't getting this tune until it comes out of my cold fingers! lol Serious love the map!

TSP & Rob are very fluid....I wouldn't count them out just yet. They may add that option on checkout? Let you pick which tune goes in which spot?
Or Rob may be able to do that for you.....I would also be on board for that!

Is the hondata version just the main 3rd map that the ktuner has?

Yeah, I'm sure they would... or at least eventually after the initial rush of early adopter sales they're likely having. I missed the 64.99 to 79.99 bump (still a bargain... even when/if it goes to the crossed out 99.99) and it hadn't dawned on my about it being integral to a OTF map switch file instead of being a stand alone until I came back and started reading the posts that are singing the graces of the map. It was from the Ktuner thread about the feature that made me remember that it doesn't remember the last map selected unless you have your tuner plugged in all the time.

My old lady still happy with my old mostly vanilla 23# basemap so I haven't been in much of a rush... but it'd have to be loaded on startup to ever see use.

All premium is 93 octane in my area. Maybe that's the reason?

Really just hoping for a couple of comparison samples from existing Vit Stage 1 users on performance and KControl before I pull the trigger.

@ParkwayDrive13

He has the TSP Stage 1 tune in Kansas City where they have good quality 93 octane, believe he also has Vit's Stage 1 tune.

Hopefully he can give you a good comparison, especially with high octane fuel!

This was a great read guys, thanks all for sharing. I ordered my Ktuner V2 on sat and there is a back order of course, but understandable as people are starting to discover that the new 1.5 is a really great platform. I was told 2 weeks, and while thats no problem at all i hope its shorter =P. The way some of you are talking about this tune, it makes it seem like its a completely different car. I just got my Si a couple weeks ago, and even in stock form its pretty good, and thats coming from trading in an STI. I live in Az, and its super hot here, but i dont go crazy on the streets anyway. Little spirited pulls here and there. Looking forward to impressing my brother in law, as he scoffed at me for selling my STI and getting an SI (he still has an STI). Looking forward to keeping up with him, and eventually being able to beat him!! hahah

Nice man. What made you sell the STI and go for the Si, if you don't mind me asking?

Its a bit of a long story, but i will try to summarize. I had originally bought a 2015 STI and had nothing but problems with the car for a year and a half. Eventually Subaru bought the car back from me, and i bough a 2016 WRX (I wanted to try the new motor) so i started to mod that one thinking the FA was safer than the EJ, and started having issues with that one as well (non motor related). Not only that but the interior in subarus isnt exactly amazing; rattles constantly and things feel cheap. So i decided that since i just didnt fall in love with the WRX i would go ahead and go back into an STI, this was after only 4 months. So i got another STI, and left it alone, but never really trusted the motor after the 2015 i had. I slowly started following Type R's as that was what i was originally looking at, so i went and drove one. Thought it was pretty neat but it didnt blow me away, and i wasnt a fan of the styling. kept doing research on the platform and then started looking at the SI. Went and drove that one, felt like it wasnt far off the Type R, but was 20 grand cheaper, and thought hell, i can get 2 cars for the price of an R, have it as fast in no time, and wont feel bad for modding a Type R.
So in short, the STI is a great car, and it feels very Raw, but for 35-40k you have to start the car with a Key, no sunroof, the stereo is absolutely horrid, and it rattles like crazy. Ive been a honda guy since the 90s but i guess i wanted to try something new. I took a 4 year break from honda, and i am glad to be back. Ive build my fair share of hondas over the years. From a Turbo EP3, to a 94 CX with a B18C1. I had an 8th gen FA5 for 6 years that i traded in (like a dipshit) for my first STI. sorry this is the short version too! haha
