I think it’s super cool, but it’s just a bit too big and has too much functionality I’d never use…so buying one would be pretty pointless to me, personally. If they made a Type R “square” Casio, I’d be much more interested.

Its not that bad, but the previous Seiko edition Type R watch had a more clean, coherent look if you are into that style
The Seiko is also significantly more expensive IIRC.

That watch reminds me of the fk8 type r. Vehicle style watches almost never look good and are tacky. I like clean simple watches.

Casio makes some very respectable watches (some are pricey, like the MR series, if you consider $4k a significant chunk of change for a watch). Even high end watch collectors like Casios (primarily the “square” designs) for a simple, cool, functional, and casual watch for doing house work, recreational stuff, etc.

I have a few Gshocks, some I wear to the gym or when I want to “work” on the car. They’re my beater watches. But it doesn’t make them bad or cheap. They are durable. One time, my son picked up my watch and chucked it across the room. Luckily it was a gshock. Lesson learned, don’t leave watches around. Had it been another watch, I would’ve likely shed a tear.

I smell a watch snob amongst us.
Watch snob? Its an Explorer LOL. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Its one of their cheapest watches and ironically I think its one of their ugliest designs. Anyone who parrots around a Rolex is the opposite of a watch snob. Watch snobs have class at least ? Wouldn't surprise me if it was a fake

Wanna know how to tell if someone is wearing a Rolex? Don't worry they'll tell you before you even notice ?

Yeah G-Shocks are insane. I remember I bought one to keep track of time because I'd go out surfing in the morning in college before my classes started. Its till sticking.

If your watch has a sapphire crystal you shouldn't have to worry about something like that. I remember after buying my BB58, I was looking for in on my bed and I picked up some clothes. It was under my shirt, and it fell to the ground. I freaked out and got startled and accidentally kicked my foot actually kicked the watch into my dresser ? I was scared to pick it up but there are no scratches on it.

Some people just have no sense of style but at lease we have the same taste in cars.

I think the watch is really cool. I hope they make another run, by the time I tried to buy, it was sold out.

Love it! Looks to be very well made. Casio makes excellent products in general.
The fact you have a CW CTR is a bonus.
I have about zip chance of matching a Honda watch to my AB FK8. Of course the dash colors, as well as the rest of the interior, are the same regardless of exterior color, so it still works well for any CTR owner.
Heck of a great present, and a very good friend indeed. Congrats.
