i'm not a fan of a harness bar in case of a crash, then you can lose your seat belts if the bar bends, is that right?

What days are you planning on going? I can try to make it. I'm scared of Sebring tbh ?

Daytona is actually the closest track to me but I go to Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park (The FIRM) because its a small low stakes track with tons of run off. They have open track days every weekend so its easy to go and get seat time. Daytona and Sebring are alot more busy, I could never easily find dates to go

TC America is having their race on the 28-30th. I missed it last year but I'm definitely going to make it. I want to get pictures of the TCX Integra Type S and talk to the team in the paddock
GRM also tests at the FIRM, seems nice for Florida.

TC America TCR class is where the Elantra N crushes all

Might do Saturday March 22nd with Chin Track Days. I might also go to Firm soon but don't have a date booked yet.

Yea, I want to make sure it's safe that's why I'm gonna take my time to install the harness.

In Japan all the tuning shops just use the baby seat latches in the rear seat. Per the SFI as long the harness is within a 20 degrees downward angle it is safe, however I'm skeptical about that option.

The teams who did the Rolex 24 went to the FIRM there and did all the testing there before they went out to Daytona. I like how the track isn't super long or have long strsights where you are pushing +140 MPH, its good for beginners imo

I want to checkout the Rally course and plan on doing the school there. Always loved rally racing

TCR is now TCX, unless you are talking about IMSA TCR (Michellen Pilot Challenge). TC is through SRO (Fanatec GT World Challenge) and in the only cars in the TCX are the M2 and ITS (This replaced the FK8, and is what thd HRC Prototype is based on). Pretty confusing lol

yeah it's confusing AF. I was talking IMSA, but it applies pretty much everywhere.

I think TC America only has the one class now where the M2/ITS and EN are all in the same class with the EN using the Cup edition car

Thats the thing about this car, you have a back seat and putting a cage kind of defeats the purpose. That said I would not be comfortable wearing harnesses without a half cage.

Its too bad Shroth is not making their anti submarining harnesses for new cars. Those seem great for the cars that were tested. I doubt we could convince them to do one of the type R since there is not a lot of demand and to get it tested would cost them a ton of money. There are people that use these on different platforms that they were tested on, some might be comfortable doing this but I would not do it because the testing all depends on the seat.

I'm going to see what options are available, I know the FK8 harness bar can fit with some modifications. I Still want my back seat to be usable. Hopefully more aftermarkets can come out with a simple solution.
Plenty of fabrication shops can do a custom roll bar for you.

So whats the deal with managing oil changes.

I changed my oil before I had my last track day. 1/25. I plan on going again on 2/7. I probably will put less than 500 miles in between that time frame. Probably 200 miles max. Should I change my oil again?

Gotcha. I'll change it in between the 7th and the next time I go.

Do you rotate the tires at all?

When you decide to change your oil, send a sample to Blackstone labs & the analysis can help you determine your oil change frequency.

I run errands and such in mine between events. I just feel better with fresh oil before each event. 5w30 or maybe 5w40 if it's super hot this summer 90+ degrees. Makes me feel better no oil testing done yet.

I do rotate tires to get some life out of them.

But yeah just like what oil you use is the same as when yo change your oil during track season, everyone got their opinions. To me every time is overkill and I am way too lazy and cheap to do it. But yeah could send it to blackstone and see but I won't even do that.
