I called over 40 dealers today that got allocated today, here are my findings:

-Few MSRP only dealers exist, most had lists and cars were pre-sold. A few did not pre-sell them and they are either waiting for a local only buyer and won't sell out of state or someone beat me to it today.
-There's a few out there for 5k over still available and willing to sell out of state but this is 2 cars out of 40+ that I called.
-Most are asking 10-20k over. Few in the 7-9k range but this is maybe 3 dealers out of the 40.

I ended up agreeing to 48.5k for a white one with a non refundable deposit. He said the car is already in California waiting for transport so he hopes to get it in 30 days. Not sure how accurate that story is.

I'm in the mental bind of how much inching up in ADM am I willing to go? I was at $5k but at that number right now I'm waitlisted for who knows how long, so I made the decision that $7,500 would be viable. Now I'm getting offers for $10k over and I'm resisting... but is $2,500 worth it to me to get a car NOW instead of waiting who knows? I already dealt with this on a video card that took 13mos to acquire at MSRP.
Have you gone into the dealerships that are offering 10k over? IF you haven't you really should because I doubt they'll lose your business over $2500 if you're actually there and ready to take the car home. You just might get it for the 7500 over if you don't mind going back and forth for a bit.

Wish it wasnt that way but unfortunately it is, what it is

These are all over 1,000 miles from me - I'm down in Miami (+$25k land).

You're in Miami? So am I, call Mike (863 398-2975) at Winter Haven Honda they've got theirs for 10k over. Quite a few dealers in Florida were doing 10k or less but they've all been snatched.

Find one, fly out and drive that bitch home. That’s Friday talk right there.
Yeah, no kidding that IS what I'm doing. If you are suggesting I fly out to a dealer asking more than I'm willing to pay and then try to negotiate onsite I don't know what to tell you but hard pass on that.

In any event my persistence appears to have paid off. I wasn't planning on saying anything until the ink is dry. The car is a nowhere near me.

it'll also be a great experience
Yep, it was always my plan to buy remote, road trip! Was kinda hoping to get something out of Kentucky so I could detour to the Dragon on the way home, my last car I drove pretty much right by there and didn't realize it.

I feel like your chances of getting one at $7500 are pretty good at a dealer that is asking $10K over. Especially with the next wave of 200 cars on the way.

Maybe try to find a couple cars within a reasonable distance and use that as the negotiation tactic against each other. Don't tell them you are flying in though...

They'll know he's flying in once they whip up the buyer's orders lol

The Adm craze is still on going and flying out is the way to go. Million thanks to a member here who helped me to locate a car at a great price.

You can make up whatever story you want. Say you have a second home in the area or something.

Unless you're saving thousands it sounds like a lot of work to me personally. I feel like a "good deal" right now is $5K over so if you can get that and save a trip it's probably a good idea. Getting MSRP seems like a long shot for awhile despite some on this forum thinking it's easy to do.

Thanks, my deal’s adm is below 5k, and driving 8 hrs is worth it for me. No one in Houston is offering below 7k adm(long waitlist) and dealers here are tough to deal with.
