The CTR FL5 Tax Is Real!

I have zero deductible through insurance so I don't really care but the windshield in these cars is made out of cheese. Took one trip in a busy highway and its full of pits arleady.

I have looked at a bunch of parts and some are not that expensive, some are (like the tow hook cover is like 16 bucks but the silver console thing is expensive). Aftermarket there is probably a little R tax. That said coming from a BMW M car it seems like most things are affordable lol, like a valved exhaust is $2000 instead of $3500.

There is a CTR tax, though the windshield is more about all the sensors and Honda Sensing etc. I would think. Also if you are insisting on Honda OE vs aftermarket. I had to replace my wife's windshield on a 2022 Pilot and it was over $2k if I remember correctly (Touring trim with acoustic glass). That was using aftermarket glass, though same company that makes the Honda OE windshield just not with the Honda branding. We are lucky in South Carolina that all windshield replacements are zero deductible by law so I honestly didn't pay that much attention to the pricing.

It didn't take much to chip my glass. I'm almost certain glass nowadays is not as good as back in the days. With the shoring cost on everything I agree ? glass coverage is key.

I agree. My '97 Miata I drove year round in New England and never got a chip or crack but my '16 got one in the first year and my FL5 has one too. Thankfully the one on the FL5 is small and not really in my direct sightline so I tend to forget about it, I did try an at-home filler but that went "meh".

my windshields are $50/deductables, well were $50. Now at least
in maryland, they are always covered. So no biggie here at least. Last one I had to replace was for my wifes 2019 subaru ascent, and it was over 3k I believe If I didnt have windshield coverage! All this eyesight and such really drive the prices sky high, just the conditiona alone needed to calibate eyesight and all the other tech now. If you dont have coverage or the state doesnt force certain things on the ins companies, pay the extra few $ for the coverage
