Amusingly enough, in Australia, they call them "sexually transmitted infections", so the STI was a popular car ?
In Canada too they change from disease to infection...but...my comment uncovers my age! Haha

Make it 3 lol. Honestly my hopes aren't very high though. 2023 Civic Si pricing in Canada went up another $1000 without any changes made. I expect CAD pricing to be around $52k at this rate. Welp, nothing to do but wait and see.
I mean they raised the price from 45k to 47k between 2020 and 2021…….I’d be ready to feel the pain

wow...toyota pricing revealed on the gr corolla

$36,995 for core
$43,995 for circuit
$50,995 for morizo

$50k for a corolla is pure madness, don't even care that it's one of 200 lol
I mean that’s how much some people are about to pay for the Type-R.

Yea no kidding. I’d assume the new type R will fall just above the circuit and close to the FK8 LE price (this is a hot take lol). It’ll be a good jump over the 2021 FK8 MSRP just based on the jump through out the 2023 Honda lineup.

The Circuit is going to be a hard sell IMO, unless AWD is a must-have for someone. The Type R offers more power, is lighter, significantly roomier, and with an interior that can pass for both modern and cool.

The GR Corolla infotainment screen looks prehistoric. Absolutely atrocious dash layout. Everything else I actually like about the GR Corolla, including the engine and exterior looks.

I'm still guessing CTR will be right at $40k with destination. At that point it will be a very hard call for me in my situation - I'm basically looking at a CTR in ~12months for $7k more than a GRC in 3 to 6 months.

I was hoping for GRC to cost either a lot more or a lot less than I expected to make the choice easier. It came in a smidge lower than I expected due to the bargain prices for the packages and got harder. There's no way the CTR is coming in lower, so the only way I'll swing away from it is if the MSRP+dest ends up 42, 43k or more. $10k more to go CTR, gotta draw a line somewhere. Even then it will be down to getting a feel what the two are like from reviews.

All else equal I want the CTR more. It's funny but it's mostly because of the interior and practicality factor. Also looks though. Both are super special and look the part. CTR is out on its own though, about the most attractive new car in my eyes today bar only GR86 (which I'm hoping to finally take delivery of this weekend.) I wish like hell I could convince myself to pass on both and keep my perfectly fine, very fun DD for a while longer until dust settles but it is hopeless. I can't imagine the crushing regret I'll feel every time I see one of either, however rare that will be.

I won't even mention how much the old lady wants the new Sienna on top of all of this. Probably one of the only vehicles harder to get a hold of than GR86, CTR, GRC ?

Accounting for what feels like a jump in 23. I think it'll end up being 40. Just a guess

The Odyssey is right up there with it! Honestly, 90%+ of everything that arrives at our dealer is sold before it makes it.

Funny, people are saying the opposite on the GRC forum i.e. GRC will eat the Type R for breakfast. I feel either car would excel as both cars cater to a slightly different audience.

I don’t know how people figure the GRC will eat the Type R for breakfast? The FK8 vs the lighter GR Yaris was a very evenly matched race. The GR Corolla is significantly heavier than the GR Yaris, with the same powertrain, and slight bump in HP. The Type R did gain a little weight, but also P4S, 265 width tires, and a tad more HP/TQ…

They should be excited!

The Core reminds me of the EVO RS in a way. Speaking of which... Anyone look at EVO prices. lol.

I think GRC will be an absolute blast. I wouldn't know who to call the victor. I think everyone wins.
