Looks like Magnaflow quietly added another option for the FL5. It’s part of their “SPEQ” series which is a bit more tame for sound levels. I emailed them about the differences between this and their Xmod option, and they said “The new SPEQ mufflers contain chambers and baffles for a more controlled tone while the Xmod muffler is our original straight through design.” It DOES retain the factory valve as well. It’s also $400 cheaper than the Xmod option, so it’s pretty reasonable compared to other valved exhausts.

Like the Vband setup to prevent leaks. Don’t like that it’s 2.5 inch diameter piping.

My exact thoughts but but I think 2.5 inch will have its advantages. I also like keeping the valve operational although that’s just personal preference. I’ve run magnaflow on a supcharged 2003 SVT cobra with many bolt ons and it sounded good but much more quiet then my Bassani . Still sounded deep and great for the street. Really not sure how it will sound on a FL5 but it’s definitely peaked my interest. That and the AWE touring is on my radar??

Now I’m in between this one and the 27 won I like the polish tip of 27 won not a fan of the carbon because probably will not hold up to time. But I want a system like this while leaving the mid pipe stock and a resonated pipe, I wanted a little bit of more noise but don’t want to be obnoxious to everyone around me. If I get the 27 won I don’t know if it’s install without their mid pipe probably get this I have magnaflow on my 06 scion XA and I like the tone on that one, isn’t loud but deep enough.

2.5 inch piping will be fine for 90% of owners, keeps the noise down since these cars sound like trash and the weight down. 3 inch is still the benchmark though.

That was my first thought as well, but tbh, 2.5” should be plenty for those wanting to stick with bolt-ons and don’t care about chasing crazy hp numbers.

Looks like the XMOD has been removed from their website.

Other than muffler internals they seem almost identical. Comparing 2023 videos.
