Once upon a time, a Stoptech engineer told me pad deposits can happen in one 60-0 (don't quote me on the starting speed) test if the tester sits on the hot brakes with pressure applied. So definitely try not to stop with hot brakes and let the cool down lap be reasonably slow and use zero or minimal brakes. This way your brakes don't get imprinted when you're parking in the paddock because they'll be cooled down by then.

^ This. I have noticeable deposits on my rear left of all rotors from an emergency stop on the interstate. After it happened, I was stopped in traffic for a few minutes and sometimes that's all it takes. I've still got a light shudder under braking, but luckily the rear rotors are much cheaper to replace if it doesn't clear up.

I had the same symptoms after a track session. Rotors appears to be glazed so I used a flex-hone to wipe off the pad residue from the rotor. Then I lightly sanded down the pads using sand paper. I started the re-bedding process all over again and all was new again. Just got done with a track day last week.

Here is a link to the flex-hone.

I was not aware Flex-Hone had a rotor hone, I ordered one to try out. Thanks.

To tie this one up and report back to the group, I was able to supply post-drive home photos of the front rotors to Paragon, and they confirmed the P3 pads overheated and that, when they do overheat, they smear the rotors with material (different pad types/compounds/materials do different things). If you go with Paragon, in this situation, they recommended their R5 pads on the front (and P3 on the back).

Again, thanks all for your input.
