The Elantra N has 50 less horsepower and I'm positive it would still reduce power during 90 F track days as well.

Adding oil coolers and the associated plumbing is a major task that would increase weight and cost. You guys do know that cars with factory oil coolers usually run an extra 2-3 quarts of oil, right?

The cooling issues aren't as bad and can be easily fixed with the Elantra N, I cant speak on personal experience but I've heard this from several owners and they've shown me videos of how fast the CTR overheats. Even in the SG video of the Elantra N vs the CTR the same thing happens.

Theres been plenty of OEMs that have offered cooling packages on their vehicles as an option/dealer installed package, BMW, Ford, GM, etc. These packages range from $1,500 - $4,500. It Its not really that radical of a concept. Give the people who want the cooling the ability to get it on the car.

Hell even HRC showcased the Integra Type S with all of the track day goodies many people have wanted. You still can't even order the parts.

That's all I've been trying to say. There is a cost and weight associated with cooling this car more efficiently and Honda decided not to do it just for the small number of people who even have the issue. They didn't want to burden every owner with a higher MSRP when they most likely don't need it.

I think the HRC stuff could be coming in 2025. I think that's what they announced at SEMA but I can't find the article now.

The problem with your argument is that we have the Integra Type S which is roughly $7,500 more than the CTR while offering essentially nothing and in some would even argue that its a downgrade. They could offer a cooling package and it still would be lower than the increased price hike we see with the Integra Type S.

Misha just did another video with a basically stock FL5. Only upgrades being pads, fluid, lines, and wheel/tire. In the video it seems to be roughly 50f ambient which kept the temps within normal ranges. Seems promising!

12-way power seats with lumbar, heated front seats, parking sensors (front and rear), ELS 3D Studio Sound, 1 additional year/14k miles on bumper to bumper warranty, 1 year additional/10k miles on powertrain, AcuraLink 3 year complimentary trial, and HUD. I may have missed a few things. That's not "essentially nothing."

There's no point in adding a package to solve a problem that doesn't exist. The FL5 has now been through two summers and the stock car handles heat well enough on track for a $45K car.

I don't know why I did it, but I felt the need to comment on that video about the "not stock" animosity by many of his subscribers and kind of started a small shitshow ?.

I argued that Renault had their track car that broke the record before, and that they shouldn't be complaining now that Honda followed suit then. But the problem is that the Megane RS Trophy R has 500 examples while the Type R "S" is either a handful of cars out there or just the one in the video that is somewhere out there. So I guess I get it.
