Hi All!
I’m hearing this metal rattling noise towards the front left side of the engine bay when i close the front door and the car shakes a bit. I heard it for the first time when i got home last night and closed my door. It is pretty consistent and does it every time i close either of the front doors

It doesn’t do it when the engine is running or at least i dont hear it.

it looks to be coming from the circled area in the picture. Any idea what that could be?

the car is a 2025 model and has 2200 miles.

That is frustrating. Get a small rubber hammer/mallet and start tapping on random places.

These new civic have so many rattles it's ridiculous. Did you check if it's coming from under the car? My underbody tray was rattling because it lost two bolts after the previous oil change.

I checked the under tray and the wheel/fender lining and its definitely coming from inside the engine bay. Its somewhere around or under the headlight house area. I tried feeling around to see if there was a loose bolt or something but i could see/feel anything.

Could it be one of those A/C lines rattling against something?

Check for stones inside the fender liners and undertrays. I found some when adding sound deadening. You can tap the plastic liners/trays and hear rattling if stones are present.

i checked for that and it’s definitely not rocks. Its a very distinct and consistent sound and can only be heard from outside the car when the engine is off. I’m not sure if it still rattles while the engine is on and i just cant hear it or it actually doesnt.

Or maybe it’s your HVI you had installed a while back and the sound is echoing in a different area. I know you were wanting to lower it is lowered now?
Also is this the sound you were hearing when you first got the car and it’s just got worse or a different sound and area ?

Interested to see what the dealer says keep us updated.
Hope they find it for you I think they will and I know it must be frustrating.

Put your hand on the rod circled in blue and have someone close the door and see if it goes away or you can turn key on, but leave engine off and close the door and see if the sound is still there. It shouldn't make noise with power to the actuator or with your hand on it. I know these tend to be very loose with no power going to the actuator. Just a thought...

i actually found out what is it. There is a circular part/sensor i think not sure what is actually or what it’s for. It sits between the bumper and the frame of the car next to the intercooler on the passenger side. It vibrates when you close the door.
I was able to slide my phone down in the engine bay to take a quick clip of it.
