Nope. Never was fixed. I’ve tried some felt which seemed to start working but then it got noisy again. Really close to just giving up on this car and getting something else.
Same here. The build quality is absolute shit. Years of saving for a nightmare essentially

Just stumbled upon this and WTF - mine is about as quiet as my sport touring. Little vibration on the upright screen sometimes in really cold weather but damn. I wonder if this is driven by transport. I feel for ya’ll.

If I could take back my 2020 sport hatch I would. Oh well. Leaning towards the m340i.
The M340i will feel totally sterile in comparison. My 340i was as dull as dishwasher.

Crazy you’re looking to sell up. Although this seems like a fairly isolated problem there will be a fix.

Every owner review other than this thread talks about the step up in build quality.

BMW’s rattle like crazy, too. Ask me how I know. Be careful what you wish for.

I know that it’s not a popular thing to say around here, but the Type R is a Civic at the end of the day, albeit much stiffer all around. So rattles are almost inevitable.

Every M3 (and most recently M2C) I owned rattled far more than the 3/2 series platform it was based on.

These cars come with 19’s and 20’s with low profile tires, which definitely doesn’t help. In fact, that’s often the culprit. Adaptive suspensions - on sporty cars - are useless for the most part, especially when it comes to dialing out nvh.

If you want to reduce rattles and squeaks, buy a car with high profile tires.

This is spot on.

If the rattle is really that bad, get the garage to sort it, but this type of car will creak and rattle, it comes with the territory.

I’ve spoken to a couple of local U.K. owners, the cars are only a month or so old, but they’re both very happy.

I know there is a know issue/rattle with the infotainment screen with the current Civic, but they have a fix and I assume the Type Rs are covered.

This doesn’t help the OP, but with thousands sold, I suspect we would be hearing more if this was a widespread issue. That’s not to say it’s something that won’t materialise over time, but if that is the case Honda will likely provide a fix.

What is actually rattling in the glovebox? Is it the box itself or what?

My M3 never rattled so it’s not always the case. This is the only car I have ever owned that has this bad of a rattle problem.

I'm noticing a rattle that I think is coming from the plastic housing around the honda sensing unit/lights. Anyone else having the same issue?

Seems like the box itself, but very hard to pinpoint.
Curious if you remove the box and drive, is the rattle still there? Just a thought in an attempt to pinpoint the source.

video....

I did try that and the rattle was gone so I have been trying to felt all the areas I can tell where plastic touches other plastic. No dice yet.
Have you tried shaking the removed item itself? It can also be the latch.

Some nice dash rattling to add to the fun.

Gah...... There is a lemon law in AZ. But it might be too late. What is your milage? Says 15 days or 500 miles...

I will say none of this should be happening with a new car. I've had 2 FK8's. Neither of them (current or prior) had/have any rattles, squeaks or creaks. I get a slight buzz in the dash at 4500 RPM but it's not bad. Happened in both cars.

Anyhow, a replacement is what you need at this point. Tell em' it's a lemon. Good luck my friend!

My FK8 never did any of this, zero rattles. Nor did my FG2 or any other Honda I’ve owned. So this is definitely not a “civic thing” and not a “the type r is pure and raw” thing.

That’s just the dash. The glove box area still rattles and now somewhere near the door / pillar.
To me it sounds like a wire harness not properly padded. So it’s consistently banging against something. The loud and consistent ones are somewhat easier than the subtle and temperature related ones. But taking apart a dash is not fun at all.

This sucks. I hope you didn’t pay a hefty markup on this car.
