Yes it’s 100% doable…. All the hangers line up perfectly the exhaust tips need to be shortened 5” but the nice part is Honda welded the tips on exhaust where it needs to be cutAnyone know if the ITS exhaust is a direct swap? Just curious.
.. I would highly suggest that you get a good welder to tackle this and not some hack at a local exhaust shop

No, the pops and burples is all in the tune the Type S has.Does this get you the magical pops/burbles people like about the type s or is it just a cheap upgrade?
I’m hoping when Hondata adds the pops/burbles tune, this mod will allow it to sound as good as the DE5 does without that extra resonator.Does this get you the magical pops/burbles people like about the type s or is it just a cheap upgrade?
The tubing for the center tip once you cut the 5” off it slips right over the center section for the CTR exhaust perfectly and same with the outer tips as well. In the pictures I tack welded the tips until I was able to get the alignment perfect.. the. I fully welded the tips on.@JDM_DOHC_SiR Pics are super helpful. Thanks. I couldn’t figure out how you dealt with the flared tubing of the center tip. Just cut the flared portion out and weld the larger pipe diamater of the tip to the center can. Nice. Outer tips look like it’s basically slipped over top of the smaller pipe from the outer cans and spot welded. Sound about right?
Unfortunately it’s all one piece for the section with both the resonator and the muffler.
Unfortunately yes. Everything in that picture is one piece, no bolted joints.![]()
Shoot for real? We both talkin about the front resonator not the rear right?
The exhaust tips are not sold seperately, not as a Genuine Acura Part anyway. If you absolutely have to have the DE5 tips, the cost effective way to do this would be purchase a used DE5 exhaust, cut the tips off, cut your FL5 tips off and weld the DE5 tips on. You're in for a lot of money for what is essentially a stock exhaust system.Anyone know anywhere to buy just the three Integra Type S exhaust tips (not the full exhaust setup) to swap with our FL5 tips direct?
I did the front two resonator delete and it sounds way better - louder and get some burbles and pops in Sport and +R mode. I talked with my exhaust shop about doing the rear center muffler delete to get some more noise and swapping all three factory muffler tips to 4” or 4.5” tips - but the inner diameter of tips we could find was too big for the outside two pipes and also too long since an adaptor would need to be made on the outsides. They would stick out too far.
Would be great to just buy the DE5 tips, remove the FL5 tips, and weld the three new big ones on …
