I have just received my HR Chicane shift knob that comes with the magnetic shift boot collar. However, when I tried to screw the knob all the way down, the collor does not want to sit flush due to the actual curved shape of the shifter. If I don't screw it all the way down, know is loose. Am I missing something? Anyone encountered this issues?

Thanks!

You are supposed to use the locking nut to put the shift knob where you want and have it sit flush with the boot collar.

locking nut will not work with the HR boot collar as there will be not enough thread for the knob to screw on.

pictures attached.

pix 3: knob threaded just enough for the boot collar to sit flush but the knob is loose.

Mmm maybe someone that installed a hybrid racing setup can chime in. My acuity goes over the nut without any issues and flush fitment.

try flipping the nut? I think when I was playing with one of my previous setups I had to do that to get better fitment. Or just go buy a thinner nut from the hardware store since you don't need the OEM one as you have a different collar anyway.

Good looking setup btw.
