Helped? I've answered your posted questions directly twice. And you're kidding with the iTunes hopefully right?

The reason the V1.2 was mentioned was it has more features than Hondata for less money.

For just a CAI, TB spacer and the base +6 Hondata tune, that 5.38 0-60 sounds miraculously low. Do you have a timeslip? If not, can you give some details like what timing device you used and what fuel? That's an incredible 1.5 seconds faster than stock. Was it downhill? ;)

I'm curious as to what the actual horsepower figures are for the hondata carb version with the base +6psi map. I know it added some power, but how much? Anyone know what it puts down at the wheel with the cvt?

im still on the fence about tuning an engine that has only been around for a few years, and certainly dont want to lose my warranty by messing something up for just a little more pickup. i will continue to follow your thread to see if you run into any issues. My SI with a +6 PSI tune would most definitely be a lot of fun to drive but at what cost.

Still no issues with reliability i'm assuming? I want to do the +6 psi tune as well, but I'm worried about reliability in the long run(300-400k miles).

Do you have any comment on that based on what you've heard and your experience?

I actually switched over to KTuner.

But, I believe both KTuner and Hondata base tunes are safe. Unfortunately, there's no way I could say with certainty that they will get you to 300,000+ miles.

Hey there,

I am running the +9psi PRL CAI (race maf version) and have no issues no clutch slipping at all.
Its a great tune and the car is a different animal completely.

It comes down to this... having the car tuned isn't what puts you at a higher risk. Its how you drive the car and how it responds to the things you do.

If you launch your car every day and cant drive a mile without full throttle, yes your clutch will slip sooner and your putting a lot of load on your turbo and engine. I actually drive my car slower now because it sounds so much better hearing the turbo spool. When I do feel like getting on the gas, I do it for a quick pull in a gear or 2 and back to normal.

This is considering I am on the most aggressive +9psi..but anyways... I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!

Yeah we've noticed the same thing here. Usually when driving to track events we'll get right around 40 MPG. It's awesome you can have the best of both worlds!
How much does it cost and is there people that can professionally tune it for you? I want that MPG

That mpg is possible stock. Gotta drive easy, gentle throttle, shift early, use boost sparingly.

I average 36-42mpg per tank of fuel, depends how much fun I have vs my normal 42 mile each way commute 5 days per week.

In any case you should buy a hondata or ktuner and flash a map. Completely wakes up these 1.5t engines.
