Has anyone had an issue with the Hondata app not connecting to the Flashpro? It initially connected for me the first day. Then never again. I’ve deleted the app and re downloaded it. I’ve tried manually connecting. Nothing works. Paid $12.99 for it so I’m pretty disappointed. I don’t need it for much aside from telling my ethanol content after I fill up. Would be nice if it worked so I don’t have to bring my laptop with me every time.

I’ve emailed @Hondata_Support twice with no response on how to get this to work. When I open the Flashpro on my computer and click the Bluetooth tab, it won’t let me enable Bluetooth for some reason either. Seems like it’s just a check box but won’t let me click it. I didn’t have to do this the first time the app connected though.

anyone had this issue and able to solve it?

The Hondata app is honestly pretty disappointing. It doesn’t provide accurate information, even compared to a basic voltage meter. I emailed Hondata about the issues, but they told me they don’t handle the app—which seems strange, considering it carries their name.

The app doesn’t even show oil temperature, and the data it does provide is pulled from the same source as the Log R. I even considered switching to Cobb, but that didn’t seem much better. I emailed them a couple of questions, and most went unanswered. It feels like they just want to sell the product without offering much support.

I don’t want to clutter my dash with a ton of gauges, but there also don’t seem to be many options out there. I looked for setups for this engine, and while I saw some oil temp gauges, one was mounted on the drain bolt. I’m not even sure if this block has a proper place for that. There are sandwich adapters like the ones used for oil coolers, but back in the late ’90s and 2000s, those weren’t very reliable. They give you options, but I personally don’t trust them based on past experience—though I know some people track their cars with them without issues.

When you look for gauge mount options, they often come from the “JDM heaven,” where you pay an overpriced rate and then wait forever for it to arrive just because it’s JDM.

In short: the Hondata app is unreliable, and their customer service isn’t much better.

I only use the Hondata app to monitor Ethanol content and AFR and have not had any issues.

What phone platform are you running on? I'm on iOS and if the "searching for Hondata adapter" message appears on the headunit, then unlocking my phone establishes the connection.
