Hondata…worth it?

Just wanted to see if y’all thought the tune was worth it? They are coming to Chicago this week and I was STRONGLY considering it. Just wanted input on if the performance was worth it? Does the drive feel change? Anything worth noting or you wished you considered before the tune? Thanks!

I'll see you there. I was planning on waiting for warranty to expire but being off and able to do an in person jail break seems too good to pass up. Thinking run hondata base map for a year or so. Save up, add some bolt ons, then maybe a custom tune from IMW. This is somewhat new to me so if anyone has any insight or tips it's much appreciated.

Yeah my car with the OTS Phearable tune pulls so much harder than stock in the higher rev range.

I was waiting for it to expire as well…and decided…screw it. People seem to do well with the tune without issues. I wonder how it affects MPG.

I daily my FL5 and I’m still get about 29MPG when I’m driving normally. You’ll be fine, the tune for me set in R mode.

Wait…does that mean it only kicks in during R mode?! Otherwise if you are on comfort or sport, it is normal?! That would be awesome! This was through hondata like this or someone else?

The whole tune is affected on all the drive modes. Just that they have different torque target requests depending on the tune.

Just seeing this now. Is there a tune for a stock fl5? I wasn't planning on any power adders yet. However I will be dropping my car off at king motorsports tomorrow and picking up on Thursday. It's not far from Chicago and can swing by the jailbreak event.

Our tune is well suited for a stock or lightly modified FL5. The difference is night and day.

Yes, there are 91 octane and 93 octane OTS maps available with the purchase of the FlashPro device. TSP, Phearable, ProMetric, and others also offer OTS maps. Further, you can have the vehicle custom tuned by your tuner of choice.
